Wally sees the reader out practicing his sword skills, and stays behind to watch. (Y/n) , whom is lost in thought does not realize Wally is there. As he calls out his name, (Y/n) ends up injuring himself. But who knew, a small cut could've brought the two so much closer?

This oneshot is directed towards the male/trans-male audience, but any may read.

[Y/N's POV]

I sighed, wiping the sweat off of my head. I was a knight in the Darling Castle, home to King Wally. I had been working and living here for a good 6 years. I was currently out practicing my magic skills with my sword. King Wally had gifted it to me after I had passed the royal knight test.

My magic was simple; fire. Though, my fire oddly enough were just blue flames. Everyone throughout the Rainbow Kingdom had a type of magic. Well, not everyone. About 5% of our population didn't have any magic of the sort. Most of them being commoners. I, too, myself, am a commoner. There were 5 levels of magic stability.  I'll go from the most common, to the least common!

1. Earth. Earth magic seemed to be the most common for one to inherit. The ones whom mainly held so, were merchants and such. A few of my fellow knights, such as Barnaby. He was my commander, as-well as King Wally's closest friend. 2. Air. Air was one in which only the nobles had seemed to get within their age. Though a few commoners I knew had this type of magic. 3. Fire. Which is what I have. In a group of people, 2 in 5 are said to inherit fire magic. Sooo.. it's not all that special. Plenty of other knights I know have such magic, but seem to dislike me... Why? I don't know, nor do I care.

Then number 4. Mist. Mist magic is rare! Only royals have been able to hold such magic within the last few decades. Though, there could be others out there. I'm not one for travel, but I do wish to see the world one day. Finally, 5. The magic to harness either; the Light, the Dark, or Colors. King Wally, had all 3. Which is why I wanted to be his knight! Not only, that he had cool powers, aha.. But because he is kind. He's a good ruler, don't get me wrong. And, pretty.. uh, good looking too.

"Y/N L/N!" A voice boomed. "Eh-" I dropped my sword, startled by the sudden voice in which had interrupted my thoughts. I winced at the sword cutting my hand, I held it, and swirled around, only to be met face to face to none other than....

"K- KING WALLY SiR?!-" My voice cracked. Darn, you, (Y/n)! I scolded myself. I saluted, despite my now bleeding hand. Before I could get another word out, he spoke, grabbing my hand and bringing my arm down.

"Oh, dear. You've injured yourself..." He examined my hand with his soft, plush hands. I felt my face flush, but averted my eyes, speaking bashfully. "I- I am alright, s- sire. It is but a scratch, I have gone through much worse than a measly cut." My voice decreased a bit near the end due to the close contact. I looked up a bit, noticing that it was just... us? Normally his secretary Frank was with him, but it seems he is not. "Is, Frank not with you sire?"

"Wally." ... "..Pardon?" He wrapped a handkerchief around my wounded hand as he spoke, in a gentle tone. Staring up into my eyes. "Wally, just call me Wally." He smiled up at me, and I could feel my face heat up. I mustered a quiet 'okay', and he chuckled. Caressing the side of my face, he hummed. I froze. "Such a fine knight.." he mumbled. My eyes widened a bit. I looked down at him. "...Sir?" I breathed out. He seemed to think for a moment or two, before patting my head and walking away.

"Its Wally, dear. And rest your hand for a bit." And with that, he walked away.

I watched his figure disappear into the distance, and held my hand, now wrapped in an apple handkerchief, blushing as bright as the handkerchief I'm sure.
