3. I hope we never meet again

Start from the beginning

"I wanna see him." Dhiraj blurted out unconsciously.

Rajat thought of it as a requirement of his boss and immediately replied, "He's scheduled to fight tomorrow."

"What?! He fought just 5 days earlier?!!" Dhiraj couldn't believe his ears.

"He fights nearly every week"

"Does his body even get a chance to recover? Dhiraj couldn't help but be concerned. Nakul was an omega after all. Rajat understood Dhiraj's concern.

"He's a recessive. He's almost like a beta." Rajat recalled looking into Nakul's medical history.

"But still....." Dhiraj wasn't sure. But the one thing he most definitely was sure about was: I'll cherish you with all my heart. I hope we meet soon.

I hope we never meet again. Nakul was seated in a hospital. His unexpected heat. No. Rather his intense unexpected heat sent him into a frenzy mode. His heats only showed up twice a year and they weren't that strong either. If he took suppressants, he could easily get things done despite being in heat. That was how he managed to get into the ring despite being an omega. But suddenly things were different. He broke into heat 2 months prior to his estimated date. Why was that the case now? Is it because of him? No....NO....That's not the case. It's not because of him. IT'S NOT.

His thoughts were interrupted when a nurse beckoned him, "You have an appointment with doctor Naina right? She's waiting for you." Nakul immediately got up and followed her to his doctor's cabin. And as soon as he entered the room, he was greeted with a warm smile.

"Hi Nakul!! How come you are here this early?" Naina asked with a sugary-sweet smile. And that smile made Nakul feel at ease. Maybe because meeting that lady gave him some hope. She too was an omega but worked hard to be a doctor. He found that extremely inspiring. He always looked forward to meeting her because once he did, he left the hospital recharged with positive vibes.

"Just some things I was curious about..." Nakul wasn't able to contain his smile. It was as if he was meeting his older sister. "How's little Tara?"

"Ahh.....she....the little princess.....She's doing fine. She's becoming more and more mischievous day by day." Naina rolled her eyes.

Tara, Naina's daughter, was a little bundle of joy. Nakul unconsciously smiled at the thought of their sweet little happy family.

"Tell me what you wanted to ask" Naina waited for Nakul to tell her patiently.

Nakul hesitantly asked, "Ahhh....I wanted to ask if your heat came in suddenly, not as per your regular schedule. What could be the probable reasons for that?"

"Did you have an irregular heat?"

Nakul knew there was no point in hiding things from his doctor. So he honestly nodded his head.

"Well, there could be a number of reasons. It might be due to a bad and stressful or over-exerting lifestyle. Or if an omega comes under constant contact with the pheromones of a super dominant alphas....." Naina listed the possibilities. "Or......if an omega meets their fated mate...."

Nakul's eyes widened at that sentence. That was an absolute worst case scenario for him. Naina quickly noted that reaction. So she decided to emphasize more on that point to see how Nakul reacts further to that.

"When an omega comes in contact with their fated mate, their bodies immediately respond signaling that they are a pair. Regular intake of your mate's pheromones improves the overall health condition of the omega." explained Naina. But she sensed a slight sense of panic on Nakul's face.

"In such cases, if the pair doesn't get a regular intake of the other's pheromones their mental state might deteriorate. So the best advice of that fate mates is to form a bond. That will enhance their already good compatibility. Plus their baby would be healthy and strong." Naina completed his advice but Nakul was lost in his own thoughts.

No. This can't be the case. He isn't....He isn't my mate. Such things don't exist. Nakul nearly broke into a cold sweat. He was already leading a difficult life. That was the last thing he wanted.

Naina spotted Nakul's hesitation. She started having doubts. As a doctor she must clear her doubts with her patient. "Did.....you meet your mate?"

That question snapped back Nakul in the reality. "No!" Nakul immediately responded. "I....I must be under stress..." He quickly denied that possibility. "Past few weeks have been hectic...haha...." Nakul tried to maintain his calm composure but was failing at it since Naina expert eyes caught on to Nakul's fears.

She knew how much Nakul struggled even to accept his identity as an omega. The hardships he had been through, the utter state of hopelessness and how he tried to get back on his feet, she was aware of that. She couldn't help but think of Nakul as her brother, understanding his struggles as a fellow omega. She just....wanted to help him.

"Okay. I know you are trying your best...." and I'll wait for you till you can completely open up yourself to me. "And I know for sure that Nakul's mate will be the best person in this world...hehe!!" Naina smiled at him.

That smile did put Nakul to a bit of ease. At least he had more strength to figure out how to move forward. He made up his mind about what he should do next. I NEED to stay away from that guy.

Nakul got distracted by a faint scent of sandalwood. Ahh....that a good scent.....

*swoosh

He barely managed to escape the blow of his opponent. Fuck......focus Nakul....Focus. But the musky scent only got stronger. He felt his body getting heavier but his head lighter?! What's fucking wrong with me?!!

That's when the intoxicating musky pheromones hit him once again. As his body got warmer but his legs got weaker.

*pwoh

This time he got hit by a brutal punch. But his eyes weren't on the attacker. They were looking at the man to whom the rich sandalwood pheromones belonged to. His mate.
