But the again, Yu Yan felt his intuition say that the unlikely places would always be the best places to hide. However, he wouldn't have thought about it if not for Gazef.

Gazef glanced at Yu Yan who did not say anything, interpreting his silence as a form of doubt and quiet protest. Gazef was a little sad. Inexplicably, when Yu Yan glanced at him, he felt as if Gazef's eyes looked at him with sense of asking for coaxing that didn't quite fit the cold persona. But then he blinked, and Gazef's face was back to being stoic and unreadably cold.

Yu Yan internally shook his head. He must be pushing his feelings unto other people. No, that's not right... Let's just say that he was seeing things.

Yu Yan casted a side look at Gazef whilst they enter the mouth of the cave to investigate for any signs of animals living in it. The two people had to bend their waists and walk deeper downwards inside it. By the end of the low ceiling, there was small opening that they passed by nearly crawling. The interior of the cave was cooler, with a slight breeze that came from outside.

Now that they were alone, Yu Yan was sure that he could always smell that nice scent on the man that made him want to get close. Yu Yan couldn't find a reason behind this weird behavior nor this instinctive trust, and it made him all the more vigilant against the other person.

From the start, he didn't like this little lion. So far, only bad memories were associated with this face. He always felt like the other person was picking fights with him. Was it that much fun provoking him?

Seeing no signs of life at the cave entrance, the two men entered and checked every nook and cranny. The cave wasn't that big, but although the mouth was hard to enter with a low roof, the inside has a high ceiling with enough space that could fit four people inside.

Near the end of the cave, a slender metallic object stood among a small group of stalactites.

They were right to investigate inside as there was indeed a post. Gazef gave a sideways glance at Yu Yan, contemplating on how to ask for praise, but he was afraid to sound arrogant in front of Yu Yan.

Yu Yan if he knew what Gazef was thinking: ....Isn't it already too late to be afraid for that?

After a short discussion of priorities, Gazef scouted the perimeter while Yu Yan sent the coordinates to the other pair in their team. He did his best to camouflage and hide the front of the cave, even going so far as to plant a few fake bushes and even push a small boulder to hide the low mouth of the cave.

When Gazef returned, he saw Yu Yan panting beside the huge stone, the sweat on his forehead glistening.

"Did you lift that boulder?" Inwardly distressed, Gazef asked, with his eyebrows lowered.

Yu Yan frowned slightly. Was this person doubting his strength?

"So what if I did", he said, challengingly. He would never have confessed to have used gravity to fall down this rock from a higher place...

Just as he was ready for a quarrel, he heard Gazef say, "That's amazing."

Feeling like he exposed himself, Gazef turned around and quickly mentioned to look for other posts. It was better to search a lot of ground before the night comes.

Yu Yan caught a glimpse of red ears. It was only after a few moments later that he stupidly went after Gazef to do tasks together. Far from noticing it, Gazef's statement was enough to diffuse Yu Yan's crankiness; enough even to leave him in a strange and dazed mood. But who could blame him? His enemy was looking cuter and cuter by the day! It was inevitable for him to have some trouble coping.
