We both watched as the fire went out itself and I couldn't help but bark out a laugh and Y/n joined me.

"Is it a good time to mention I'm not good in the kitchen?" Y/n said as she bit her lip, her face red from laughing and the shock of catching the pan on fire.

"Maybe next time tell me before you almost burn down my apartment," I said as I poked her arm playfully. She giggled as she walked over to the pan. "Yeah, I think this is unsalvageable." I walked next to her and saw the charred remains of the already-ruined pasta.

"How do you feel about tacos?"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Did you know that the world's largest taco was 246 feet long and stretched an entire city block in Queretaro, Mexico," Y/n said as we walked through the park, tacos in hand. I couldn't help but let out a laugh, "No, I didn't know that."

It was a perfect night. The sun had just set but it felt amazing outside.

I don't think a smile has left my face the entire time. Being with Y/n brings out a side of me that I thought was lost a long time ago. I feel happier when I'm with her.

I smiled as I listened to her rattle off random facts about tacos. God, I could listen and watch her talk all day. I love the way her nose scrunches slightly when she remembered something or the way her eyes light up whenever I laugh. I love how excited she gets about everything she talks about.

"There are over 20,000 different taco recipes, according to the Mexican Department of Agriculture..." She trailed off as I moved my hand to tuck a piece of hair, that kept falling into her eyes, behind her ear.

"Sorry, I'm rambling." She said softly.

"No, I love it when you ramble. I was just admiring my view."

She let out a soft laugh and I smiled. Y/n was turning me into a sap and for some odd reason, I didn't even care.

"Who knew Emily Prentiss was such a softie?" Y/n giggled as she bumped her hip into mine.

"Only for you," I said as I bumped her hips back.

We walked on the trail for a little longer as we finished our tacos. Once they were gone she immediately intertwined her hands with mine as she pulled me through the park. Her hands were so soft. I felt like I was in middle school again by how giddy I was to hold her hand. I was never a very touchy person but being around Y/n was different.

Suddenly I felt her pulling me toward the open area of grass on the inside of the trail.

Somehow she managed to flop onto the ground gracefully pulling me down with her. "Why are we on the ground?" I laughed as I watched her lay down on her back staring up at the sky.

"The stars are pretty." She said giving my arm a soft tug. I smiled as I lay down next to her, our shoulders pressed together and our hands still intertwined. We were silent for a moment, simply just taking in the sky above us.

I turned my head to look at her. She was glowing in the moonlight and her lips were slightly turned upward as she stared at the stars.

I watched as she turned her head toward me and gave me a soft smile. "Tu m'étonnes Emily Prentiss," (You amaze me, Emily Prentiss). She said quietly and I was almost brought to tears by her words.

I wasn't used to this. I was used to one-night stands and meaningless conversations. I was used to being the woman people use to get over someone else. I was used to being an afterthought in people's minds.
