A/N: Please tell me what you think of the chapter 1. I think it was okay.

Recap:

As Riptide broke through Gaea's chest, Percy refused to say heart, believing Gaea doesn't have one, a movement below her caught her eye. It happened in slow motion.

Back to Story:

Third Person POV:

It happened in slow motion. One second she was tearing through Gaea's chest, the next second she was getting stabbed herself. She didn't feel pain though. After spending what felt like 3 years in Tartarus you get used to pain. But she did feel empty.

"An oath to keep with a final breath." She repeated the final line of prophecy and as Gaea disintegrated, hopefully to not rise for a good few million years, Percy held her wound long enough to stumble to Annabeth's side and lie down. Leo came running with the Physicians Cure and was about to give it to Percy when she glared at him, "I swore to save my family, my friends, my home."

Continuing from what she had rasped out in her weakening state, "Give it to Annabeth. She needs it more." Leo knew he couldn't change her mind and gave the cure to Annabeth. Annabeth's wounds healed slowly and Annabeth opened her eyes a crack. She looked around and saw people giving her looks of pain and pity.

Thoughts swam through her mind. Pity for what? And then she saw Percy's limp form next to her. The chest barely rising. Clothes tattered, blood escaping from a gaping wound in her stomach. She understood.

"Why did you give me the cure?" She couldn't scream but the rage was clear.

"Annie, don't get angry," Percy paused, her energy nonexistent, "I told them to." Annabeth pulled Percy's weak form to her and cried into her chest.

"Please Seaweed Brain, I can't lose you. Please Perce." Her voice was barely above a whisper but Percy heard it fine. She tried to comfort Annabeth but she couldn't muster any energy to say she was sorry and just wanted Annabeth to live.

"You self-sacrificing, annoying, selfless idiot. I can't lose you, please Percy." Annabeth was sobbing and the sound of other campers weeping was heard. They had won the war at the cost of their leader. Their hero. Their comforter. Their friend. Their sister. Percy had always been there for the campers of they needed comfort. She was the best at hugs and sometimes she would bring them cookies to cheer them up.

Percy mustered the last of her breath and spoke softly, "Please keep the camp safe Annie. I love you, sister." Her eyes glazed over. The muscled 16 year old was lighter than a feather right then. Her chest stopped falling and rising. Her grip loosened and even dead she never looked more beautiful.

Annabeth POV:

She was gone. The person who brought us together, who strengthened our bonds, who pushed us to our limits and then proceeded to break our limits and push us farther. My best friend. My shoulder to cry one. My beautiful, powerful, incredible sister was dead.

She looked so peaceful, lying down with a small smile. A small genuine smile. Nico kneeled down next to me, the rest of the seven surrounded her body. I could practically feel the anguish and sorrow rolling the campers in waves. It was official, we had lost our leader.

The gods flashed in behind us. Why couldn't they have gotten here earlier. Where were they when Percy was fighting for their survival? Right, they were on Olympus and Zeus was scolding his godly son. How helpful.

Poseidon looked around the assembled demigods and the dread seeping into his eyes made it clear he had a hunch about where she was. I stood and glared at the gods, my eyes still being red and puffy wouldn't help, but I knew they understood I was furious and dejected.

The horror on their faces brought me a miniscule amount of comfort.

"We will need a shroud for Perseus Jackson, daughter of Poseidon."

Percy POV:

I woke up in a perfectly white space. It was pristine, clean and peaceful.

"I knew it. I'm dead."

"Not yet, but you gave it your best shot." A scratchy voice broke through the silence. I turned and saw 3 old hags with a knitting basket and an ocean blue/sea green thread. I came to the logical conclusion that this was my thread. Why are they cutting it infront of me. To cement the fact that I was dead. Wow, real nice.

"We have an offer for you." Their scratchy voice was annoying and the way they spoke in sync was creepy. Oh my dogs, is that what it was like for the seven when Annabeth and I said the same thing  at the same time. I don't feel bad though, it was hilarious. Their faces, not me and Annabeth. Ignoring my crazy train of thoughts, I reentered the conversation.

"We are giving you a second life. You can be a normal girl with no demigod scent in a universe of not gods, monsters and any other deity. In this universe you will train as a space pilot and your dyslexia will be removed. Your ADHD will stay but it will be tuned down to only actually activate in battle. Your powers, sword and shield-watch will stay with you. Your abilities will stay with you, such as; your speed, your reflexes, your sword skills, your ancient Greek attuned brain, your hand-to-hand combat skills and your stealth. There are more skills you have but those are the few we named." Don't know which lady said it but one of them said that entire speech.

A world of no gods, no monsters. A normal life. I could be as normal as you get with the abilities I keep, but ancient Greek attuned brain does not sound nice. I want to learn other languages. However, I also wanted to see Annabeth in Elysium. But Annabeth would want me to have peace. I know she would, but I don't deserve peace.

"My brain is attuned to ancient Greek but I can learn other languages, right?" I needed to clarify that.

"Yes." Raspy voices once again answered me. I know this was selfish, but I wanted to see what this world was like.

"I accept."

"We expected that. One more thing, your curse at not being able to use a bow will be gone. If you want to learn how to use one, you can learn in your new life." Now that sounds really cool.

"Alright then, let's get going. I want to try my new life."

"Last thing," They all spoke together again. Creepy, I thought as I listened to what they were about to say. "You will no longer have many nightmares but your demigod dreams will stay, we will no longer have control of your fate and your new name is. . ."

No fates controlling me and no nightmares. That just sounded awesome. What was my new name? Cool names ran through my head. Soon they spoke,

"Lance McClain."
