JIMIN POV

It feels so strange to step
inside the small office that's
been the home of my design
firm since Jen and I created it.

Our company's identity and
our own lives are tied to this plain, shabby-looking
building in downtown.

My office is just like I left it, everything neat and tidy on
my desk but it doesn't feel
like my office anymore.

I can't look out the window
and see the rolling French countryside.

I don't have My alphas here
with me in the other room.

The place I used to consider
my home doesn't feel like
home anymore.

Jen squeals as she peeks
around from the hallway into
my office.

"I thought I heard you come
in, I'm so glad you're back."

She practically tackles me in
her rush to give me a hug
and we both nearly fall over laughing.

This feels like home but that's only because of her, she can make any space anywhere feel warm and cozy and full of life.

Wherever she goes, she
brings the party with her.

She is the party.

"I'm glad to be back, too."

"Sort of." I suck at lying and
she immediately shoots me
a skeptical look.

"Wow, you really did a great
job of selling me on that." She rolls her eyes.

"I could just feel the emotion
in your voice." I snort-laugh.

"You know what I mean."

"Of course, I'm happy to see you. I missed you like crazy."

"Working alone is not my
idea of fun."

"Same." she said.

"It's been so weird without you here but I've tried to keep everything going while you
were off frolicking in paradise."

She's on a roll today.

But God, I've missed that
sharp, sarcastic sense of humor.

"I have to admit it's a pretty inspirational place when it
comes to doing design work."

I pause for a second and then ask. "Have you ever wanted
to visit Paris?"

"Of course." she shrugs.

"Who hasn't wanted to spend
all day drinking the best wine in the world and then making love with hot Frenchmen all night?"

"That's the dream, right?"

I shake my head but can't stop myself from laughing again.

I can't say I disagree with
her vision of the good life.

"You know, you could be living
at least part of that dream..."

I draw it out just enough to
pique her interest, then back
off a little.

"If you were being serious
about all of that, I mean."

She eyes me suspiciously.

"What kind of plot are you
trying to hatch right now?"

"I know that look."

Guilty, as charged.

"Not a plot, really." I say.

"I'd like to think of it as
more of an opportunity to
get some European clients."

"Okay Jimin." she gives me the
look and I know she's serious since she used my actual name.
