JIMIN POV

When we first flew into
France, I got a chance to see
the nighttime lights of Paris
and then was able to see
more of the city a few hours
later in the gray morning light.

It was magnificent both
times but in different ways.

Now, as the evening sun is bathing the city in an orange glow and reflecting off the
water of the Seine, Paris is everything I want it to be.

It's elegant and grand and busy and breathtaking in its beauty.

As Guk and I sit and sip our lattes at a sidewalk cafe that
he says is his favorite spot in
all of Paris, I keep losing track
of our conversation as I get
lost people-watching.

I can see why he loves this
place.

The sights and sounds and
smells of the city are all
around us but we're in our
own tranquil little island of
tables and chairs watching everyone else rush by.

"Is this your first time in
Paris?" he asks, a half-smile appearing on his face as I
shift my attention back to him.

"This trip, I mean."

My cheeks flush as I realize
I've let my end of the conversation trail off again.

"Sorry." I mumble into my
cup as I take another sip.

"I could sit here for hours
just watching the world go by."

"But yes, to answer your question well, no, actually."

I feel my cheeks heat up
even more as he shoots me a confused look and I realize
that I'm starting to ramble.

"I came here for a few days
on a high school trip but it
was all such a blur and I was
too young to really appreciate the city."

"So, I guess I would consider
this to be my first real trip
to Paris."

He's still grinning at me.

"Jungkook and I travel here for business quite often, which is what made us want a bigger place out in the country for entertaining but I love seeing
the city through your eyes."

"It makes the whole place
feel fresh and exciting again."

"I can't imagine ever getting tired of Paris or ever feeling
like it's just another city."

I look up and down the busy street again as I speak.

Yeah, there's no way I could
take this place for granted.

"It's all a matter of
perspective, I guess." He says, echoing my own thoughts.

"You can only pass by the
Eiffel Tower so many times before it just becomes another part of the landscape and when you're here on business, there isn't a lot of time to enjoy
the finer aspects of the city."

"Like this little cafe, for example."

"That makes sense." I say,
even though I still can't
imagine how many times I'd have to visit before this all became boring to me.

He gives me a mischievous
wink and sets his empty cup
on the table, then rubs his
hands together.

"If you really want to see Paris and I mean all of Paris, there's really only one way to do it."

I wait a moment for him to
give some more details but
when he stays silent I cock
my head to the side.

"How's that?"
