Your appointment with Doctor Sloan after breakfast was excruciatingly long, and all you wanted was a nap. He wanted all the details of how you and Bucky had made up first before he started on his deep dive into your time of imprisonment at Hydra's facility. He kept you straight until lunch before he finally released you from the confines of the small office.
At lunch, the table was fairly quiet, with everyone seeming to be in their own thoughts. You saw a few people kept stealing glances at you, but you were trying to ignore it. You wondered if they had the same misgivings that Bucky did. Bucky left his vibranium hand on your lap for the duration of the meal, a subtle reminder that he was there. As soon as he was done, he took both your dishes and his own and brought them into the kitchen before he came back. He put his arm behind you and pulled you in a little more, so much so that you had to pull in your chair up beside him more. Once everyone was done, you leaned over and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek and wordlessly got up and went to the lab first. He got up quickly behind you and followed you there, and reached out for your hand as you got to the door. He took your hand and kissed the knuckles.
"I love you" he whispered, seeming like a lost puppy again.
"I love you too, have fun in the gym" you gave a bright smile, even though you were filled with anxiety. He nodded and walked away while you finished your walk to your desk. You saw your plants had been thriving and well cared for in your absence and smiled softly at it. Tony and Bruce walked in a few moments after you just sat down and Tony came over to your side.
"Are you sure you are ready for this?" he asked, keeping his voice low. Bruce looked over, it was clear he was feeling a little anxious as well.
"Born ready" you nodded with a firm determination. You turned on your computer while Tony leaned against your desk and you started logging in.
"VPN first" he reminded you, and you quickly connected the VPN before you opened anything. "Good" he seemed content seeing it was connected before he walked away, knowing you well enough to know that you didn't like to be micromanaged. You saw Bruce turn on the music, and it was your lovesong playlist, even though it was Tony's day for music, and you smiled softly opening up your emails first.
You sang softly to the music as you started reading through. There were quite a few from Director Fury looking for an update for upcoming missions. You answered him you were starting to review all of the data now, and would get back to him once you felt comfortable starting to send out the team on missions again. It took you a while to get through all of the emails. It seemed you had gotten quite a few, a lot of them that would send back a read receipt that would go back to either Director Fury or to Tony. You knew it was Tony's way of making sure you had stayed out of your work email while you were off of work. You then started reading all of the mission dockets that Friday had sent the team out on, and added them to your tracker as bases that had been hit. Once you were done that, you started on the raw mission data and you got immediately lost in your work. You found new bases that you added to your tracker that the intel claimed were small bases, but you knew they would be worth hitting. Some of them were still in North America, but there were a few in Europe as well. You started sorting by what the data might entail and added notes quickly as you went.
You were so lost in your work, you nearly froze up with two arms engulfed you in a hug from behind and you felt a scruffy kiss on the cheek. You looked over in surprise and saw Bucky was standing there with a small smile on his face.
"It's time for supper, doll" he gave the tip of your nose a kiss. "Sam, Loki and Stevie wanted to come over tonight" he added in a hushed whisper.
"Alright" you nodded and gave him a soft, lingering kiss on the lips before turning back to your computer and starting shutting everything down. You looked up to see that Tony and Bruce were waiting as well and gave a soft huff. Half a day just wasn't cutting it, and you felt like you needed more time. You had so much to do, and all of the data was old so there was room for errors. You didn't like those odds. You knew Fury had probably still sent out his team on missions, and decided you would ask him for some of the data that Shield had gotten as well. You knew he wouldn't likely refuse you, since you would likely do him a favor again in the future. You stood up and whipped out your phone quickly to text Fury asking for more data, but Bucky took your phone and put it in his back pocket.
"That's not going to stop me," you reminded him.
"You need to eat, your work day is done" he gave a half smile.
"Tin man is right, time to eat Sunshine" Tony waved for you to hurry up. You felt Bucky's hand drop from the small of your back to your butt as he guided you out. You swayed your hips likely more than necessary, but you liked driving Bucky crazy too. Bruce and Tony walked out first and you felt Bucky give your ass a quick squeeze and you giggled in response.
"Behave" Bucky said softly, in a quiet warning and you bit your bottom lip thinking about it for a moment, but continued the way you were walking. He cleared his throat as you started making your way past the kitchen, but you held a secret smile and continued on your way. Bucky suddenly grabbed you and pulled you into the side entryway to the kitchen where it was a bit closed off and he pushed you up against the counter, grabbing you by the back of your neck and his lips descended upon yours hungrily. His tongue took dominance in the kiss and you gave a soft moan in the back of your throat. You felt your knees almost buckle with the amount of passion he was putting into the kiss. He pulled back after you thought you were going to try to talk him into a quickie in the bathroom and gave you a hard chaste kiss on the lips. "I said behave baby doll" he whispered huskily in your ear. You turned your head slightly and nipped at his earlobe before dancing out of his hold, and looking at him from under your eyelashes. He gave a soft growl and you rushed into the dining room before you got yourself into more trouble.
You quickly took a seat and Bucky came in behind you quickly and cleared his throat before he sat down beside you.
"I need my phone back when we are done" you looked at him pointedly.
"As long as it's not for work" he shrugged.
"I need to reach out to Fury" you gave a bit of a huff.
"What for?" Steve asked, reminding you he was there.
"I need more data from Shield's missions to make sure the bases I found in the data I went through today haven't been hit yet, or there's no other updates on it" you turned your attention to him.
"I'll reach out. You are done work for today, sunshine" Tony took out his phone and quickly sent off a text. "Enjoy the family time" he added for good measure and you nodded and turned your attention to the food going around the table. You felt Bucky's hand come down and rest on your lap in a silent promise and you bit your lip thinking you couldn't wait.
