Chapter 45 - "Only friends?"

"don't you think this is the wrong place and time?" I ask
"Do I look like I care?" He plays with my hair
"Well I do care"
"But-"
"We will continue on...my birthday! Promise" I say before he could complete what he was saying
"But that's literally like 3 days away" he widens his eyes
"That's not too long, you can wait, also I like people who are patient" I smirk
"Fine fine, don't break your promise though"
"I won't"
"Well, I guess it's time for me to leave" he says with a shrug
"Wait I have a question" I say
"Hm? What is it?"
"Don't you think Hannah is gonna question me about our matching bracelets?" I ask
"She won't ask, it's none of her business anyway"
He doesn't know her does he...
"Yeah but just in case..."
"Even if she asks, it doesn't matter, I'm just matching bracelets with an annoying friend, right?" He smiles
It bothers me, because, what does he mean by 'friend'? Are we only friends?
I sigh, "right, well you should go now, see ya" I say and enter my apartment and lock the door. He ruined my mood.

Ah...I shouldn't have opened the door without ringing the bell, Liz and Steve are here...
"Liz?" I look around
"Liz I'm home!" I say loudly when I see her bedroom door closed, guess they are spending some time together.
"Coming!" She yells from her room

She opens her bedroom door, "you just came?" She asks
"Y-yeah" I hesitate
"I thought you were going to Dylan's place" she puts her hands on her waist
"Yeah, I'm, just wanted to come inform you, my phone died so you know I couldn't text you.." I lie...I wanted to give Liz and Steve some privacy
She nods, "alright then, I'll see you later"
"Yeah bye" I leave my apartment.

I have nowhere to go...I guess I'll just go to the cafe near our school.
