3. I Can Make You Stay

Is this all it amounts to?
The love I had for you?
The things we've been through
The pain,the suffering and the joy
Is this all I have ever meant to you?
If it is then I must have meant very little to you
Given how you're leaving me now

I cried so much that my pillows complained because of the forced bathes I gave them with my tears
I cried so much because of the pain left by the void of emptiness you left me
Yes 'You left me' all by myself
To fend for my self in this wilderness they call the world

We were supposed to be a pair
Now you've left me with one shoe to wear as I walk on this thorny road they call the world
One half of my feet aches from the pain left by the thorns
Just as half of my heart aches for you
I am incomplete because half of me is gone
You left me,You left me,Why did you leave?

You did not even give me a chance
One to try and convince you to stay
Were you scared to face me
To look me in the eye and break my heart
The heart you spent years caressing
The heart that once made yours skip a beat
You are a coward
This I learnt because you left me

Please come back
Tell me what I did wrong?
How did I rub you off the wrong way?
Was I no longer enough for you?
I suppose there are other fish in the pond
I am sad that I am not the one that caught your net

This hate you've taught me overshadowed the love I had for you
Because you left me
Left me to learn how to survive without you
And survive I did because I no longer need you
So don't come back for the note you left me
The one that said to carry one without you

I now realise I can't make you stay.
