Longing for Hope

As Hero looked toward his brother, he couldn't help but feel like he had failed. Hero looked over at Kel and patted his back. "It's okay, Kel you should get some rest and I will see if Sunny's okay.". Kel sniffles as he nods sadly. Hero got up from Kel's bed and exited their bedroom. Hero left the house and headed in the direction where Sunny lived. Hero walked the sidewalk thinking of why Sunny did it. Hero stepped up to the porch. Hesitant, Hero knocked on the door. Ms. Suzuki answered the door "Oh! What a surprise, Hero! What brings you here?"

"Hi, Ms. Suzuki! Sorry for coming so suddenly."

"O-Oh! No, No,! It's fine!"

Hero felt bad for her, considering how Kel left earlier and was shaken up by Sunny's emotional state. Ms.Suzuki must have felt guilty for how she wasn't able to take care of Sunny and never noticed how bad it had gotten for Sunny. Hero politely asked if he could see Sunny.

Sunny's mom felt shaken.

Ever since Kel left the house, she was desperate for Sunny to get better and called doctors and therapists. Ms. Suzuki apologized to Sunny now and then. She never got a response from Sunny if he forgave her or not.

"S-Sure...I think Sunny would appreciate a visit."

Hero faintly smiled.

"Thank you, Ms.Suzuki"

Hero allowed himself in and headed upstairs, thanking the wilted mother once again. Hero gently knocked on Sunny's bedroom door. "H-Hey, Sunny! I just came to visit you and came to see if you're doing okay!"

Sunny is behind the door sitting on the bed, thinking over what happened.

"I hurt everyone"

"Why is Hero here?"

"I want to be alone"

Sunny looked down with no response while gazing at the bandages Kel wrapped around his arms.

"Okay..."

Hero peered through Sunny's door while opening it slightly.

Sunny looked at Hero.

Hero looked at Sunny.

Hero could see leftover tears on Sunny's face, his eyes red from crying.

Hero glanced at Sunny through the door

"Hey, Sunny...How are you holding up?"

No response

"Okay, I... I'm coming in" Hero's voice wavered. Hero opened the door wide and slightly closed it.

Sunny looked at Hero with a guilty look. Sunny gazed at the floor. Hero sat down next to Sunny on the bed.

Sunny thought the same thing with Kel is gonna repeat again but it's with Hero instead.

"Sunny, I don't know what the right thing to say is. But, I really do care about you... and everyone else does too."

Sunny looked at Hero with his dark eyes. It looked like he was about to cry again.

Hero sighed "I'm not angry with you, it's just... been hard. We're going to get help, we all do. We can't keep trying to stay in the past,"

"Mh..." Sunny hummed as he nodded very slowly

Hero couldn't take it anymore he broke into tears are hugged Sunny tight.

"H-Hero..?" Sunny said faintly. Hero wouldn't reply he just sobbed on Sunny's shoulder and holding on tight to Sunny and didn't let go. 

Hero felt cold arms wrap around his back and it stayed like that for a few moments. Hero broke the hug and wiped the tears off his face 

"S-Sunny just always remember we are all here for you. Always and forever. If you need to talk we can always come to you and you shouldn't be afraid to ask."

"H-Hero...I-" Tears started streaming down Sunny's face. He couldn't say anything else at all Sunny just sat there wiping the tears off his face but they kept on coming back. "Sunny, promise me you'll never do this again." Hero said while caressing Sunny's bandaged arms. Sunny nodded because he already promised himself he won't do it ever again. Hero warmly smiled and let go of Sunny's arms then he looked at Sunny in the eye. 

"Kel was really worried about you even since after he went over at your house. Y-You should pay him a visit maybe? I'm sure he will be very glad. When you are free! I don't want to push you and you don't have to right now."

Sunny looked at Hero and thought about Kel. He must of frightened Kel after the incident and he really wants to see him and hug him tight. Sunny had some doctors appointments soon. Sunny looked at Hero and said "Is it o-okay to wait 2 days? I could visit you and Kel after 2 days." 

Hero hugged Sunny. "It's okay, Sunny. We'll be looking forward to seeing you"

Sunny looked down with his blank face and nodded. Hero stood up from Sunny's bed and went towards the door. He waved and muttered "Get well soon, Sunny" 

Hero closed the door and went downstairs. 

"Is he doing better?" A voice said to Hero

Hero looked up and saw Sunny's mom sitting on the couch, looking guilty. Hero smiled and spoke "He's doing better, Ms. Suzuki" Ms. Suzuki looked at Hero and faintly smiled. "Ah..., Good." Hero walked towards her. "Hey..., It's okay! Sunny is going to be okay!" Hero reassured her. "Okay..." The mother said slowly nodding. "I must take my leave, Ms. Suzuki" Hero walked to the front door and opened it. He waved bye and left.

"Goodbye..."
