Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian ended going to Qishan. They stood there at the Scorching Sun Palace in the center of the hall. Wei Wuxian suggested that was where they should go. Make a new place for themselves there. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji set barriers around the entire location. They had a lot of work to do, but they wanted a new place of their own.

They wanted to make a new Qishan in memory of the Wen Remnants that Wei Wuxian tried to save and for A'Yuan. They wanted a new Qishan sect and there they wanted to make it so it doesn't matter the background, make their own history, memories, rules and principles and so on. Lan Wangji said that they will name it, the Qishan Wei Sect and both he and Wei Wuxian shared the leader position.

Because of the protection barriers, not just anyone could enter. Wei Wuxian made new tokens so that they could come and go as they pleased. The barriers were very strong, and could take a lot of hits before it was even half damaged. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji even took down a lot of the old buildings, and redecorate the sect, change colors to something more suitable for them and their sect.

They chose black. Lan Wangji was no longer in white, but in all black like Wei Wuxian. Their sect logo was the Phoenix, as it was a symbol of rebirth. Their words were the promise that they made, live with no regrets, defend the weak and uphold the good, eliminate the evil. Just a simple word to say, justice.

Lan Wangji even let his mind ease up in Wei Wuxian's use on resentful energy. Wei Wuxian even asked Wangji if he wanted to learn how he did everything. He even agreed to it. Wei Wuxian also managed to reinvent or fix the issue with the Yin Hu Fu, and it only answered him and now Lan Wangji...until the Yin Hu Fu transformed its form and settled into Wei Wuxian's Dantian, creating a new core...a core that was black but it allowed him to cultivate again...not just resentment but also spiritual energy. So in other words, the Yin Hu Fu was now his core. Lan Wangji had more reason to protect him, as people would still try to want his power.

One evening, Wei Wuxian was patrolling the barrier to check for weak points when he felt something. It had a strong effect to resentful energy. Wei Wuxian shot out his Phoenix flare to summon Wangji, and he was there immediately. Lan Wangji followed Wei Wuxian to see if they could find out what it was. At the entrance, Wen Ning was standing there. Wei Wuxian almost collapsed to the ground at the sight, seeing that he was alive...but why?

Lan Wangji caught him before he fell to the ground, "it's alright," Wangji told him.

Wei Wuxian almost immediately returned from shock once he was in the safe haven of Lan Wangji's arms. It took him a moment before opening a small hole in the barrier to allow Wen Ning inside. That was when they noticed Wen Ning was not quite conscious, and found mind piercing nails. Wei Wuxian removed them and Wen Ning was back to normal after a few minutes.

"Ying-GeGe," Wen Ning said, "you are alive."

"I am, but how are you? What do you remember last?" Wei Wuxian asked.

"I was taken into a cell and I everything went dark. It was as if I was let go and I found my way here. I heard you play Chengqing," Wen Ning said.

"Honestly, I haven't played Chenqing since Lan Zhan and I got here. And we have been here for almost two years rebuilding," Wei Wuxian told him.

"Someone must have set him free, and sent him here, we should check his robes or maybe give him new ones and check him for any other charms. We could be being spied on," Lan Wangji said.

"Very well," Wei Wuxian said and brought Wen Ning inside.

Wei Wuxian set up a bath for Wen Ning, and had a charm set in the water to remove any potential talisman or charms placed on Wen Ning. Lan Wangji brought fresh robes and burned Wen Ning's old robes. Wen Ning was now apart of their sect, and he was the head disciple and healer. Wen Ning was happy to put all that he learned from his sister in use.

"Ying-Ge, I think my Jie is still alive though," Wen Ning remembered, "she was in a cell next to me. Even though it was hard to distinguish, but I swear I heard her say to come back for her."

"Wen Ning, can I perform empathy on you?" Wei Wuxian asked, "Lan Zhan would have to observe to make sure nothing goes wrong of course but we have to know. And if she is, we have to get her back."

"We will know the truth, Wei Ying, let's rest and do empathy tomorrow with fresh eyes," Wangji suggested.

Wei Wuxian nodded. He has to agree, it was so late at night and he was tired. He had to rest in order to think straight and perform empathy properly. Since Wen Ning never sleeps, he patrolled the barrier after Wei Wuxian gave him a new token.
