Hunter X Reader (Bad Batch season 2)

Pov: y/n a Jedi who survived order 66 with the Bad Batch finally collapses under the weight of the galaxy

(3rd Person pov:)

"We're coming up on the crash site, everyone get ready this has to be quick with all the Imperials swarming this planet" Hunter stated as he walked into the cockpit, he had a look that masked every bit of worry on his face, this mission was dangerous and it put the Sergeant on edge. He looked around the cockpit only to notice a certain Jedi and young clone missing. Confused as to why Omega, who was usually glued to the cockpit and him, was now absent, pushed him to walk back into the common room in search of them.

Hunter was stopped abruptly when he spotted Omega sitting at the table occasionally glancing into the bunk area, Curiosity overtook the leader as he approached Omega and sat down. Immediately Omega stiffened as if being caught doing something she knew was wrong. She looked up and locked eyes with Hunter, her eyes carried guilt yet concern and Hunter felt no other choice but to ask, seeing as his younger sister wouldn't tell.

"Omega, are you ok... do you want to tell me what made you look suspicious?" She looked back down at the question, her hands fiddling with the red fabric Hunter gave her that was wrapped around her wrist. Sighing, he placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Kid, I can't help you if you don't tell me what's bothering you. I promise you're not in trouble, I just don't want to see you upset" Her eyes flashed emotions so complex not even Hunter could decipher them, but after a final glance towards the bunk area she caved.

"I'm worried about y/n"

"Why, do you think she's unwell"

"No, it's just... something doesn't feel right with her. She's been more quiet than usual these past few rotations and spends all her time in her bunk. I thought, maybe we did something or said something that made her upset. She's just been... hiding" Hunter took in what Omega said, his mind taking him back to the certain changes in the young Jedi's behaviour. He now looked closer towards the bunk and spotted y/n facing the wall, her back to the light of the hallway.

"It's ok Omega, I've also noticed some changes in y/n's behaviour. I'll go talk to her, ok? why don't you go to the cockpit and Tech will give you a deb from on the mission" The young clone nodded at her older brother and slid off the sofa towards the other Bad Batchers. Hunter looked again at y/n, then sighed psyching himself up for the conversation he was about to have.

Y/n was a Jedi knight who had been saved by the Bad Batch some time ago, she had worked frequently with the squad as she appeared to be the only one who fit into the unique dynamic of the Bad Batch. Allowing them all to work as a team and allowing Hunter to be in charge instead of trying to make a change like any other Jedi General would. After escaping Kamino with Omega, they found y/n injured and terrified only a few days later. She backed away from them at first, scared they had fallen into the trap of Order 66 as well but after spotting Omega and listening to Hunter's comforting tone, which had been ready for every other clone, allowed the Batch to help her. Since then they have become a family. Y/n was still reserved, the loss of her fellow Jedi taking a toll on her mentally but the Bad Batch was there to lift her up and she had never felt so at home,

Hunter, understanding the mission they were about to walk into revolved around the remnant of Y/n's entire past, decided to take this talk slowly. He walked over to the young Jedi and tentatively sat down on the bunk next to her, she still faced away from him, he could only see her side profile but noticed the gleam of tears on her cheeks. He placed his hand on her shoulder, shocking y/n from her disassociation. He put his hands up in defence as she controlled her breathing, quickly wiping her cheeks of any remnants of her pain.
