Pov: You're around when Nelson fully takes over Matt. ( 9 months together)

The time was 4:30 pm and I was watching the last few spellbound employees leave blue base from Matt's office next to the reception table. The sun was beginning to disappear over red base. I never liked being alone but the adventure Matt and his team were on was something I could not join.

The silence and ominous feeling of  blue base was making me uneasy and the bright glow of red base was so much more comforting that I made the decision to climb down the sofa I was on, open blue base door and slowly make my way across the car park. Walking in that fear slowly dissipated as I lay on the huge sofa located in the middle of the room.

I lay there for what felt like hours waiting and worrying for my dad to make it back home. Only now, I wish I never prayed for his return so urgently. The recognizable sound of the door opening woke me from my day dream and I peaked over the sofa, a massive smile forming on my lips and a huge weight lifted from my shoulders as I saw the team walk in.

Melancholy looks rested on their faces. But I was too happy to notice.

"Matt, I was so worried.'' I ran off the sofa over to him, my small stature barely reaching his hips. He knelt down to my height with a smile on his face....Only it wasn't the smile I recognised, it was more distant and forced. But stupidly I thought nothing of it.

"I'm fine y/n, just got caught up in traffic...how did you get over here anyways, I left you in blue base" that sternness in his voice formed blunt daggers. Not sharp enough to damage but enough to cause fear.

"I...I didn't want to stay in the blue base... it was dark" I shrunk back into myself feeling the presence of another human behind me.

"I've told you so many times not to walk through the car park, it's dangerous, I thought you would understand that by now" he sighed, annoyed at me.

"Hey man, relax, it's literally a 15 second walk through an empty car park. It's not that big of a deal" my dads attention shot to Woods who was behind me

"Back off wood, since when did you become an expert in childcare" I felt guilt consume me as I my actions had created yet another fight between them.

"I'm just saying you should take it easy -"

"Hey guys, is this really a relevant conversation can we just figure out what to do next with this" Sam intervenes holding up a notebook.

"Yep okay.. yeah... let's get the camera rolling'' Matt seemed to be losing patience, his tone running thin on kindness. This has been happening for several months and I've kinda learned to tune them out.

I watched as Matt talked to subject 4 about this journal and an undercover police officer. None of it made sense until project spire came up, I had heard that name before, something Matt was mumbling about after staying overnight at the office. A hole in that wall, that was it.

None of what they were saying made any sense to me and it was making me uneasy. I was so lost in my own thoughts I hadn't realised the team had gone back to the hole in the wall, Matt reamerging with a square file on it.

"Hey wood's could you go get the mini RSD '' My eyes slowly moved over to Matt, his tone changing to something more... sinister. It made me scared. Something wasn't right. I heard the girls talking to Matt about what could possibly be going on. I watched with great worry as I saw Wood's enter blue but never come out.

A shiver started running down my spine as Matt walked over to me also looking for Woods.

"You ok y/n, you seem a little on edge" I didn't look up, i didn't want to.
