February 1978

Andromeda ended up insisting they all spent the night -and even a few days. Though some of them politely declined, explaining they had to go back to their families.

The Prewetts, Mary, Marlene, Dorcas, Frank and Alice went back home. The Black brothers, Peter, Pandora, Lily, Amos and Daphne stayed however. They wanted to see the girl and make sure of her state, help her if needed.

James nor Remus had come down at all. Andromeda found it worrying, the three of them needed to eat but they were just locking themselves up in order to have privacy. She didn't dare barge in and force their hand, so she ended up sending Nymphadora to interrupt them and get them to go eat.

Juliet now knew her friends had been there and still did not have the strength to face them in that state. It was embarrassing and overwhelming. Hence, James just told them he'd go eat and come back with the couple's food, thinking it to be the best occasion to give them their space.

Once James left, they were both agreeably surprised to see that they weren't facing an awkward silence but a comfortable one. Remus was sitting on the chair by the bed, Juliet was sitting up, looking down at her fingers, playing with the ones that were bandaged, deciding to break the silence.

"Hi." She greeted.

"Hello, love." He gave her a small smile.

She would constantly look down and back up at him, as though she was embarrassed or shy. Perhaps a bit of both. Embarrassed that he was seeing her looking like that, shy because of the way he still made her feel after all the time they spent apart.

"You've been smoking."

"I have." He admitted, surprised she could tell, he figured she could smell it.

"I thought you quit?"

"Lots of things have changed since you left, Juliet." There was a bitterness in his tone that he immediately regretted when her expression dropped. "No, wait, it's not-"

"I'm sorry-"

"No, no, I shouldn't have said it like that. You did say goodbye and-"

"Remus." She stopped him. "I know I hurt you, and James, and everyone else by just leaving suddenly. You don't have to sugarcoat the truth just because I'm wounded."

"I don't think that now is the good time to talk about it."

"It is. I know you're mad, so just say it, please."

"What would it change? Why are you trying to argue in this state, Juliet?"

"I need to know if it was all worth it, Remus. Communicate with me, tell me how you feel."
