you woke up to someone moving violently next to you, that someone being chris.
your eyes shot open and you quickly started shaking his shoulder in an attempt to wake him up.
he shot upright, his breathing erratic with a panicked expression on his face.
"baby, what happened?" you asked, wanting to comfort your boyfriend.
instead of replying, he collapsed in your arms, wrapping his arms around your waist.
you rubbed his back in a comforting manner, his head resting against your chest.
"babe," chris muttered as he finally looked up, meeting your eyes in the dark of the room.
"tell me what happened, c. i'm here for you," you reassured.
he explained, "i had a uh- a nightmare that you cheated on me. with matt."
"what the hell... i could never do that, chris. i love you too much to do that," you said as you wrapped him in another hug.
all he did was sigh as held him in your arms, playing with the small hairs at the nape of his neck.
chris then pulled away from you, lying back down onto his pillow.
"get some sleep, c. i'll be right here when you wake up," you said as you laid down as well.
his arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you closer to him, your chests flushed against each other's.
"i love you," he mumbled as his eyes drooped closed, drifting off to sleep.
"i love you too," you replied, doing the same.
