You and I.

We lay under the same stars.

Mickey smiled as he held his hands over Lucia's eyes.

This was their 6th date.

They had spent so much time together outside the apartment and away from Bob and Reuben.

And they had two more months before flight school was over and they would be put into their respected squadrons.

He had two months to ask her to be his girlfriend.

Or at least two more months with her before they never saw each other again.

Two months to love her.

So every date was something special.

Every time he picked her up or came over, he had new flowers for her.

"Don't you think it's odd that he knows when to buy you fresh ones?" Mickey heard Bob ask Lucia once.

"He's here often enough to know when they're dying,"

That was true but that wasn't how he knew when to buy her a fresh bouquet.

The first bouquet he got her, he took one flower from the bouquet and kept it for himself.

As soon as his flower began to die, he knew that her flowers were dying.

He did this with every bouquet he got her.

So he would cut the stem off his flower, put the head of it in a medium wooden box, and then buy her a new bouquet.

He was keeping the flowers as a memento.

Something to remember her by when they went their separate ways.

Lucia had no idea that Mickey was doing that.

She also had no idea what Mickey had planned for her tonight.

"Mickey," she giggles as she had her hands softly placed on his that were over her eyes.

"We're almost there," he says smiling.

He was overly excited about the date he had planned for them tonight.

Lucia felt as her feet sink into the sand of the beach.

She raises her eyebrows as she smiles.

Mickey feels her eyebrows raise behind his hands and he chuckles softly.

"Okay keep your eyes closed," He says as he takes his hands off of Lucia's eyes.

Mickey grabs Lucia's hand and helps her walk toward their date spot.

"Are they closed? You better have your eyes closed,"

Lucia giggles at his words.

"Si Mickey,"

Mickey then lets go of Lucia's hand and steps back.

"You can open them,"

Lucia smiles as she opens her eyes.

But quickly her mouth drops at the sight in front of her.

Mickey had set up a romantic dinner for them on the beach.

There was a small round wooden table, a few pillows set up as chairs, a blanket, and a picnic basket.

On the table sat pink roses.
