Nichole says she will run a soldier out to help protect Jason. But he tells her to stay. He will work it out somehow.

Each one of them has to locate and find a hero inside their territory. Some hero's are fine, but some are wounded and/or being attacked.

Jason examined the units that he had been given. Just four foot soldiers. Shouldn't he receive at least twelve or something. Wasn't this supposed to be the first live combat mission.

Maybe not, maybe his fellow students saw action in the tutorial. In his moment of frustration with his lack of knowledge Nichole's voice came into his ear.

"Jason, are you there?"

Surprised to hear her voice out of the blue like a ghost he jumped. And he must have made a noise betraying his surprise because she immediately responded.

"Oh, I forgot you haven't taken the first stage of the tutorial. There is a menu, say menu and then down at the bottom of the screen is a headset looking icon. Click it and you can choose who to talk to. Oh! Don't say anything more, you are probably broadcasting to our whole team right now. That is the default."

Ted had been following along with Nichole as she had been talking. He hadn't had to say menu out loud. When he intended for it to appear it appeared. Then it was a simple matter to find the right options and select Nichole. So now he was talking just to her.

"There, hi! Can you hear me?"

"Oh, cute!"

"Ummm."

A quick interchange happened and then an awkward silence.

"Alright then, I am going to send out a couple soldiers to you. Help guide you back over to us."

Jason blushed and then hurriedly said, "No wait, don't worry. That is too much. I can make my way back to you. No problem."

This time it was Nichole's turn to protest, "No it is no problem. Let me send over a couple men. Really."

"Listen, that is half your soldiers, right? I can't let you do that."

"Half? What do you think I am crazy? No I have twenty soldiers. Two is no problem."

Jason couldn't respond for a moment, "Twenty? You have twenty?"

"Yes, I have twenty. And I already sent some over to you."

"No wait bring them back. It really is okay. I will be fine."

Nichole didn't respond and in Jason's mini map he could see two soldiers moving over to his position. Zooming in on them he saw that they were running into the fog of war between his starting point and hers. But coming back out to the full map he immediately realized that it was going to take a long time for Nichole's foot soldiers to make it all the way out here. At least a half an hour maybe.

So tentatively he guided one soldier around the area he had found himself to be in. In his old craft of war game he had always been able to sit in a chair and play the game from a bird's eye view. This was different though. He was actually in the game. With his own eyes he could feel the lush grass and the thick woods around him.

But he still had the 'screen' as well. Only now it was a holograph hovering right in front of his face. He had used the interface to direct the soldier. Mostly because that was how he was used to doing it. But immediately he saw his foot men motion to each other. Hand sign happened and then they each moved out slow and steady.

Seeing them communicate Jason realized that he could probably also just speak and tell them what he wanted. The game interface in front of him might be familiar, but talking might be easier in the end.
