Jason woke up to three quick hard slaps in the face. Two on the left cheek and one on the right. Spitting sand out of his mouth he woke up with a start lunging forward as of trying to reach something and then being confused about what he was so worked up over. Then it hit him, the second egg! He quickly looked over and saw the egg nestled back into the deep crack between two rocks. A tiny little egg, pure white it looked a little different from the normal white ivory. Had he gotten to it before blacking out...
Jason woke up to three quick hard slaps again one on the left and two on the right, "Awwwo!"
This time he vocally expressed his complaints.
"Wake up princess, I don't care if you are a bloody fool and bonded with all two hundred and ninety seven eggs! You still have to get up off them." Hezmet was angry really really angry.
"Hgh..."
"Get up! Get up, dig those eggs out. I want to see all two hundred and ninety seven of them. Come on! Up! Up!! Up!!!"
Pain shot in waves through Jason's body. The bright desert sun blinded him to the point where he almost completely closed his eye lids and did close them as much as he could. Feeling through the sand with his fingers for the eggs he pulled them out one by one.
Hezmet stood over him counting the eggs one by one, "Two hundred ninety five, two hundred ninety six, and two hundred ninety seven. Alright there you go. Done, you can faint away again."
She gave him a big smile, but on a hunch he continued looking for eggs in the sand he mussed. "Two hundred ninety eight and two hundred ninety nine!" Jason pulled the last egg out of the sand and held it up to Hezmet triumphantly.
"Why you little sun kissed orcish runt! You found two more." She was so happy she leaned down and gave him a big wet kiss on the lips. Jason pulled away and spitting out his saliva while she hackled and crackled laughing at his antics. "What you don't like your orc beauty's kisses?"
Caught in the act Jason froze, "I, um, I don't mind at all. Um, you just caught me off guard."
"First kiss was it? Trust me you just kissed the most beautiful orc spear maiden in all the tribes... five or take a hundred years." She crackled again at her own joke.
"Your over a hundred years old?" Jason said in awe.
"Yes, I can't remember the exact number. But something like that."
Jason had the feeling she knew exactly how old she was all of a sudden and that she was probably being modest at that. Although once you were over a hundred what is a few years or even decades anyway. He shrugged.
"Alright, so what do we do now?"
"Now we don't do anything. You mysteriously disappear off to your school any minute now and me I will stay here and keep watch over your eggs."
"Just that, pretty simple, I guess." Jason groaned trying to stay positive, but his body aches were immobilizing.
She pinned him with her eyes making him fall and scrap himself in the obsidian, "It is not 'pretty simple', it sounds like you don't know what you have done!"
She took a breath and steadied herself, "You just bonded three hundred dragons, so you have any idea how much food and water you are going to need. And what about mental stimulation and love. You think these dragons are just going to wake up and be the ultimate carnivore their mother was?"
"No??"
"That is right, 'No', didn't you hear what Azeroth said? The dragonets are spirit animals just as much as they will be physical. And they are going to display phenotypical traits of humans. How much work are human babies? Hgh? Hgh?"
"A lot of work?"
"Yes! But I might actually know more about human babies than you do. But just think, maybe a dragonet will be half the work at a real human. But then times that by three hundred."
"Oh!" Jason's eyes rounded
"'Oh' is right. You are going to need a lot of help."
"What do I do? Please help..., I know I shouldn't ask you. You don't deserve to be dragged into raising babies at your age, but you are all their is?"
She smirked at him, "Don't worry, I am going to help. Just know that a lot of your class mates will avoid coming to the jujangi simulator. But you can't avoid it. You have to come as much as possible. These dragonets will continue their consciousness through each reset. But we will be frozen until you come back. Me I am fine, but the babies will suffer if you are gone for more than a few days. Got it?"
"Got it." Jason confirmed and then looked around, "Umm, what do I do to get out of here?"
"Nothing, absolutely nothing. Since your system is in an error state you will have to wait until the simulator is shut down. Or disconnected like I like to think about it. Then you will be pulled out and sit up in the school. Just wait for it. Come here actually come look at the eggs. They really are beautiful with all those colors. I have never seen dragon eggs look like this, before."
"Really? How do they look for you? Or I mean in the past?"
"Oh, you figured it out did you? Yes I was the old egg bonder. But this time I couldn't bond. I guess I am getting old." She looked down at Jason, "My eggs had more character. They were molted, mostly yellows and browns. Maybe some green sometimes with rock and sand deposits in the shell itself."
"Wow, that is a lot different."
"Yes, orc dragons turn out with big with earth magic and high strength. I can already see that your human eggs are smaller. We will see what kind of magic they will have, right?"
As she was talking he suddenly felt a sharp pain. Instantly he knew, it was one of the hatchlings. Looking over them he knew exactly which one, too. The bond was working.
