They fell through the darkness. Feet first they had a few moments clutched together looking into each other's eyes. Both their eyes wide open and bugging, but for different reasons. Jason was expecting to die at any moment. Cecelia was wondering at the opportunity that this human was affording her.
She had not had a contracted slave in thousands of years. Not since the station had been built. She marveled. It couldn't be true.
And then there was a bright flash of light as they passed out of the tunnel, back into the navel and then into the event horizon of one of the singularities in the navel.
Jason found himself standing completely motionless.
"We are here!" Cecelia let go of Jason and he let go of her reflexively. She dropped down to the deck, only a few inches as she flung out her arms and twirled.
The lights came on and a hangar like room illuminated around them. One side of which was a dark opening out onto nothingness. There were no vehicles. It was just an empty bay.
"Come on, let me show you more." She grabbed his hand and pulled his arm when he seemed routed in place.
Jason followed her when she tugged him along. Beyond the hangar there was not much just a hallway ending in another dark window. Off the hallway were four doors. One on the left and three on the right.
She took him to the first door on the right, "This is my room, see. I have it decorated in mid twentieth century modern."
The room was mostly a study in whites with chrome and steal highlights. The bed was a king sized bed with a huge unkempt fluffy comforter askew on it. Plenty of pillows were disarrayed against the white headboard. A desk was on one side of the bed and an open walk-in closet with drawers built into its sides in the other side of the bed.
Cecelia didn't go in, all she did was hold the door open for him. Sticking his head in he could see that there was an open bathroom on the same side of the room as the closet which he hadn't see before because of his angle. Most of it was a wrap around counter with plenty of space for all the beautification materials she had there.
"Nice isn't it, plenty of room." She blushed a little bit. But when he moved to go in she shut the door in his face.
Suddenly Jason was blushing, "Umm, ..."
"Come on, come see the other rooms." Cecelia pretended that nothing happened. She led him to the next room in the hall and opened it for him.
This room was a library. Floor to ceiling bookshelves lined all four walls. Across from the door was a nock with cushions and again a dark window. In the center of the room was lowered area with steps going down on all four sides. One of which had a projection screen and opposite it the steps were much wider. Wide enough, in fact for individual chairs, love seats, to be positioned. On the lowest step before the floor was only one chair. This one looked used. A bowl of half eaten popcorn and a couple of stuffies were strewn around on the seat.
"Oh, I forgot about the mess!" She closed the door hurriedly.
The next room was the kitchen, pantry, and laundry room combo. The laundry room was sectioned off from the pantry and kitchen. Notable was the fact that the pantry was bare. Same as the kitchen, some of the cabinets were open, but there was absolutely nothing in them.
The laundry room was a mess, though and clothes had spilled out from its confines. Indeed instead of food the pantry was a wasteland for clothes. Some of which were hanging up, but most were haphazardly stuffed into the shelves.
They actually went into this room. Even though it was so much messier then the other two rooms Cecelia seemed to want to show that she was willing to allow him into one part of her life.
"Okay! That's enough. Come on. Let's get your system reinstalled and then get you back to your dorm.
Jason raised his eyes brows again, "Dorm? I have a dorm?"
She laughed, "Yes, silly. Of course you have a dorm. All the new transfers are bunked together in the dorms. The phelibs set it up that way."
"But, I thought I was your slave..."
She looked at him like he was crazy, "You thought I was going to provide a place for you here?"
Confused, he said, "Yes, ..."
"Oh, of course not. Silly human!" She shook her head and then looked at him wide eyed, "Unless you thought you were going to be THAT kind of slave!"
Again confused he just looked at her, "..."
"You did!! I can't believe it! Listen, Mr. hormones, I don't even have the gear to eat let alone do that!" She moved to pull her pants down and Jason suddenly realized what she meant.
"Wait! No, no! I didn't mean that. I just thought, you know, that I would be serving you somehow."
"Oh!" This time she blushed, "Oh, well no. Obviously, you need to be with your fellow transfers. You will have access to the pods and all the educational materials slash classes. You know how important teams are. Don't you?"
"I guess, sure." He said carefully.
Cecelia continued blushing and stepped into him closer, "You know, if you want, I could get an upgrade from the system. But don't even think about digestion. I don't think I could handle digestion. The eating would be fine, but the other end would be, yuck!"
Jason's eyes bulged, "No, no, it is okay. You don't have to do that for me!!"
"Are you sure? I heard that boys really like the..."
Hurriedly Jason interrupted her sentence, "No!"
She looked at him strangely.
A little more calm he took a few deep breaths, "No, that is okay. I am okay. I don't need to have that kind of service."
"Okay, but if you need some help in that area. I would be happy to help." She left the offer hanging.
Jason didn't know how to think about a woman, or a space station being so open about that sort of thing. Instead of continuing the conversation he moved around pretending to be looking at the clothes, kind of like the clothes were museum pieces. It was lame, but anything to change the subject.
