Might As Well Be Instant Death

Again the adrenaline hit his system and he felt an overwhelming need to pee. But he closed his eyes and swallowed. The awkwardness of his parched throat and dry mouth distracted him while he waited for the emotion to pass. It was too far to tell if the guard was really looking at him or not, but there was nothing else around to catch any attention.
Shame made him grimace, his reincarnation had just started and was already dead. Not really dead, yet. But in name only. Fear ruled his thoughts for a while, but this too passed. He already knew that a night in the dessert was cold. He didn't have shelter and he didn't have water, let alone food. He was dead if he walked away. "I might as well face the music." Jason said to himself and began his walk towards the tents.
As he came closer he realized two things. First the guard starring at him wasn't human and second it really was starring at him. When he was within a hundred yards the second guard suddenly rose up from his sitting position and headed back into the camp. Almost immediately the denizens of the tribe flooded out to stand behind the shrub on both sides. Now that he was closer he found out that the shrub was not a shrub, but three sticks bound to each other in the middle. Their ends were all sharpened to blunt points and fetishes were blowing in the slight wind. Children, women, and the elderly were all there to witness what was about to happen.
Up close Jason found that he could will the system to give him information about the people. When he was close enough he could see that they were orcs, large mouthed, fang toothed orcs. The females must be seven feet tall at the shortest, but the two adult males that he could see were hulking giants, broad shouldered and over 8 feet tall. The females were slender marvels comparatively.
The guard who continued to stand impassively barked a command and Jason stopped in his tracks about twenty feet away. The other male crouched down hands and feet wide to move slowly made his way to Jason. When he was about two arms length away the orc waited for a moment and then seemed to relax a little. Standing straighter he still carefully circled Jason once and then called back to the first orc. Another moment of silence and then a short string of grunts and sounds that almost seemed understandable issued forth. And the crowd started laughing. The orc in front of Jason smiled and casually took a step and reached out a long arm to touch the side of his head.
And then everything turned black like he was diving into a hole. Knocked out Jason's body slumped to the ground.
When he woke up it was cold, very cold. There was an argument going on around a camp fire that Jason couldn't see directly, but could see the glow of on the tents around him. Very distinctly he could hear the word player being pronounced in the orcs vulgar language over and over again at irregular intervals. Jason hugged himself and rocked back and forth from his heels to his butt. Eventually a group of mates came in to the circle of light from outside. Behind them and to the side a group of what Jason thought were dogs appeared just outside the ring of light. But as Bill starred at them he realized that they were not dogs, but some kind of large lizard. Above the tents a humungous creature swooped low. The orcs ignored the regular swoops. For all of Jason's reasoned calm before, now he was absolutely terrified. The presence or presences above him seemed like nightmares out of the deepest levels of hell.
He heard a chuckling sound and the thought came to him.

[You do well to fear us, man child]

And then nothing. The elders approached the group of male orcs fresh in from the night. And again arguments occurred. Finally an orc over eight feet tall and mantled with a shirt cape walked up to the group and cut the bickering off. Pointing at Jason and motioned out into the night. And the group dispersed. One young male approached the cage Jason was in and threw it off. Easily pulling up the stakes that Jason hadn't been able to budge. Unresisting, Jason scurried to follow the orc out into the night. Above their heads sounds of air and screeches continued. At a certain point the quality of the ground under their feet changed and the orc stopped. Surprisingly he understood the next words to come out of the orc's mouth, "Fo forward another hundred feet. You will find her. Don't turn back or you will feed the whelps."
"Find her? Find who? Wait, please help me." But the orc didn't look back, "What whelps? What are these whelps? Please!!"
Terror reigned in the skies, there was nothing behind Jason the only direction was forward. So he took those steps one by one. At first they were quick, but the fear welled up again and again to the point where he had to stop and collect himself more and more. Finally it was to the point where he could only take one step before stopping and allowing a fresh wave of primal instinct to run wash over him and away.
