"I love you, anak." I whispered as I kiss her forehead.
Hinanap ko naman si Mama sa baba pagkatapos. Nagpupunas ito ng lamesa. Nang makita ako ay tinigil ang ginagawa. Today's news has been so overwhelming. My mother deserves so much and she didn't deserve my father, so I'm glad they're already annulled. However, I am aware that her heart is in great pain, and I am aware of the depth of her love for my father.
Nevertheless, I can fe that she too wants to be free and that she is not going to let her heart be damaged again. I still remember the beginning of their love story; at the time, they were strangers to one another; however, they eventually became friends and began to build feelings for one another gradually. They had a profound love for one another back then, that they were even ready to face life together.
Today, though, so many things have changed. If only my father had not done this, we would be able to live normally and be together. Unfortunately, it has already happened, so we must simply accept it.
From total strangers to friends to lovers and finally back to strangers once more. It ended the same way it began. Two random people passing by each other. Except this time they kept walking and didn't look back after they reached their destinations.
"You're free ma." I said in a bit trembling voice.
"Thank you for helping me. I've been waiting for this thing to happen, Gusto 'kong pasalamatan rin si Drazen." her voice shouts joy.
She was not crying, but rather celebrating. And this time, I am aware and able to sense that it is already pure joy that I'm seeing in her eyes. She is happy. She hugged me quickly and thanked me numerous times.
Nanatili kami sa ganoong posisyon hanggang sa matawa na lang kaming dalawa dahil nangangawit na kami. Umupo muna ako sa may upuan at pinagmamasdan siyang pinagpapatuloy ang pagpupunas ng lamesa.
"Sabi ko sa'yo e! Matutulungan tayo ni Drazen!" matinis niyang sabi.
"Ma, hindi ko siya ginamit okay. Siya ang nagprisinta." I told her the truth. "Tsaka ano din, balak ko ng sabihin sa kaniya ang tungkol kay Ashra."
Nanlalaki ang kaniyang matang tinignan ako.
"Ano?! Bakit?! Di ba nga ayaw niya kay Ashra?" Gulat na tanong niya.
Kinagat ko ang pang-ibabang labi ko at umiwas ng tingin. "That's what I thought, but I was wrong. Hindi pala totoo lahat ng sinabi ni Macy. Hindi alam ni Drazen ang plano niya."
"What?! Seryoso ka ba? Oh my! E di kung ganon, pinagkaitan mo silang dalawa ng mahabang panahon!"
"Ma! I had no idea, alright? Babawi naman ako." I cut her off. "l'll get Ashra tomorrow, magkikita kami. Ipapakilala ko siya."
Kung kanina ay wala pa itong ekspresyon sa mukha ngayon ay gulat na gulat na. "Oh-wha-really?!"
"Ma, lower your voice! Natutulog na si Ashra." Sabi ko na nga ba ganito ang magiging reaksyon niya. "Anyway, i-proprocess na ni Attorney 'yon. Mabilis lang naman." Pag-iiba ko na sa topic dahil para mawala na ang atensyon ni Mama sa akin.
"Okay, don't worry. Ako na ang-momonitor doon. Just tell me what actually happened back then."
Sabi ko na nga ba!
Sa huli kwinento ko na lahat ng totoong nangyari noon. Inisa-isa ko pa dahil gusto niya talagang malaman. We talk about the past and Macy's plans that Drazen didn't really know about. Nagtagal ang pag-uusap namin hanggang sa mag-madaling araw na. Kung hindi ko pa mamapansin ang orasan ay uumagahin na kami sa pag-uusap.
