n. a moment that seemed innocuous at the time but ended up marking a diversion into a strange new era of your life-set in motion not by a series of jolting epiphanies but by tiny imperceptible differences between one ordinary day and the next, until...
The door of Luther's room slams open, revealing a very pissed off Jack Ruby.
"Why the hell did you throw that fight?" yells Jack.
"Jack." mutters Luther, standing up and moving in front of his sister.
"Answer me!" yells Jack.
"Sorry..." mumbles Luther. "I had a bad night."
"Bad night, you son of a bitch?" Jack shouts, grabbing Luther. "You could've taken that chumps head off in your sleep! I owe a lot of money right now, Luther, to people that can make things, very hard on me!"
"Leave him alone!" yells Vanya, trying to protect the brother she just met.
"Shut up and mind your business!" growls Jack, towards Vanya.
"Jack, look...I'm sorry!" apologizes Luther. "All right? I'm gonna make it up to you, I promise. Okay?"
"I treated you like a son." whispers Jack, disappointment in his eyes.
"Jack, come on." Luther begs.
"No. You and me... we're done." Jack states, walking out the door.
"Jack, please." begs Luther. "Jack. Jack!"
A door slams in the distance, causing a blanket of silence to fall on the two siblings for a couple seconds.
"Luther?" asks Vanya, whispering.
"Would you, uh... just get out, please?" Luther asks, not looking at his sister.
"Well, I don't mind staying, and I have some more questions." Vanya says softly, not wanting to leave her brother in this difficult time.
Luther yells out, slamming his forearm against the wall, knocking out a few bricks and leaving a hole in the wall, big enough for Luther to look out towards his two 'younger' siblings. Luther shows his middle finger towards the two siblings.
Vanya walks out of Luther's room, after she was coldly kicked out. She storms past the two siblings and walks towards the car.
"Well, that clearly went well." Five states, speaking towards Vanya. "You ready to go?"
"I'm going back to the farm." Vanya states, opening the car door.
"Hey. Unacceptable, Vanya." seethes Marah, walking towards her sister.
"Remember, we need to stick together." reminds Five.
"Oh, why, so I don't end the world again?" Vanya questions.
"Yeah, pretty much." mutters Marah under her breath. "Ow." after Five smacked her arm, having heard her comment.
"Stupid..." Five scoffs, aiming it towards both Luther and Marah.
"Were you two even gonna tell me?" Vanya asks, turning towards her siblings.
"You know what? In our defense, no. All right?" Five answers.
"And can you blame us?" questions Marah. "When you...you get angry, shit blows up."
"Great. Are there any other family secrets you failed to mention?" Vanya asks the two.
"A boatload, Vanya, which I don't have the luxury of sharing them with the..." Five starts, being cut off as Vanya opens the door and gets in the car.
Five knocks on the car door window, causing Vanya to roll the window down.
"The clock is ticking on doomsday." Five sighs, glancing towards Marah who leans on the car. "Just tell me that when I need you, you'll be ready."
"I can't help you, Five." Vanya whispers, glancing in the mirror at her sister. "I don't even know who I am."
"You're our sister." Marah states, Vanya starts the engine. "And a member of the Umbrella Academy. Like it or not, that's who you are."
Marah looks towards her sister, looking to see if she'll react to being called a member of the family.
"Look, that's who I was, okay?" Vanya answers. "New timeline, new me."
"No, that's not how it works..." Five grumbles.
Vanya drives away, leaving Marah and Five to stand in the middle of the street. Five looks up towards the hole in Luther's wall, seeing the Luther is flipping off his two siblings.
Five looks towards Marah, seeing her smirking at their 'older' brother. Five sighs, grabbing onto Marah's hand and walking away. "Wonder if it's too late to be un-adopted." Five mutters under his breath, causing a laugh to fall from Marah's mouth.
The two siblings walk away, heading to the car that Five parked outside of the diner that they originally ate with Vanya in.

We arrived back at Elliott's to see Diego sitting on the couch with Lila cleaning up his stab wound.
"So, what, you guys just let her go?" Diego asks.
"Well, Vanya had a lot to process." I state, taking a sip of coffee. "She'll come around, I know she will."
"What about the guys that went after her?" Diego questions, remembering the swedes.
"The Swedes?" I ask.
"Yeah, I mean, how do you know they won't go after her again?" Diego asks, as Lila finishes up cleaning his wound.
"We don't." grumbles Marah.
"Mm, any idea who sent them?" Lila asks.
"Oh, I have my suspicions." I say, sipping more of my coffee. I grumble as Marah takes it from me and drinks it herself. "But right now, our priority is finding dad and getting answers, cause everything else depends on it."
"Which, for the record," Diego mutters. "I already did."
"And then let him go before we could have a meaningful conversation." I smirk.
"He stabbed me." Diego grumbles.
"I'm surprised he waited this long, Diego." Marah smirks, causing a laugh to fall from my lips as I take another sip of coffee. "We've all had the urge."
"Good one." says Lila, holding her hand up for a high five that she never receives towards Marah.
"Good thing I know where dad's going to be tonight." I state, placing my coffee on the table. I hand Diego the invite that I found on dad's desk, the one for the Mexican Consulate.
"Where'd you get this?" Diego asks, sighing.
"Found it at his office, while he was busy stabbing you." I say, smirking when I hear Marah laugh. I grab my coffee and drink some of it. Diego chuckles sarcastically at that.
Lila hums.
"Hoyt Hillenkoetter and the Consulate General of Mexico in Dallas cordially invite you to a gala." Diego reads.
