A Thread of Hope

Chapter 6

The next morning was a very early one for me, I woke up at 4 in the morning which is hella early for me but hey it's probably because it's a new house. So instead of trying to go back to sleep again I showered and got ready. I walked downstairs and saw ma and dad getting off the couch.

"Good morning ma, morning dad"

"Morning bacha, why are you up so early" ma asked

"Probably because its a new place" I said and she nodded

"Nandini, I wanna tell you something" dad said

"What is it"

"I understand how overwhelming this all is and can be especially when Manik is involved. I know my son very well and he can be a pain in the ass" I giggled nodding at him

"Im sure he means well" I said and he chuckled

"You'll realize soon that he says something"

"But means the complete opposite, ya I kinda noticed that" I said inturpting him and he nodded

"You can call or text us anytime no matter what time of the day it is" ma said

"It means a lot to me that you two have made me feel at home and comfortable. I really appreciate it ma"

"Beta you are our daughter so do not even think you are any different that Manik for us, trust me I like you more than him already" dad said making me giggle

"Have a safe trip" I said and they both nodded

They headed out and I walked towards the kitchen to find Martha already there. She smiled greeting me.

"So nandini, nyonika madam told me that you will be taking myra with you every day" she said

"Yup, is there anything I need to know" I asked

"Lots actually" she laughed

"Bad things" I asked and she shook her head

"I don't know how long you have known Manik sir but if you know him well, myra is an exact copy of her dad. She can be the sweetest little thing or can make you wanna cry" she said laughing and I giggled

"So far she has been the cutest" I said and she smiled

"Ya she is very picky with the food she eats, the clothes she wears have to be a certain colour, she runs around a lot too"

"That doesn't sound too bad" I said to myself

"Usually it's not but there are times she wakes up and has really horrible days" she said with a sad face

"Why" I asked

"I have no idea but she needs Manik sir when she has those days, he usually will bring her with him or stay home with her" I nodded hearing this

"Do you think I can bring her some breakfast" I asked and she nodded

"Thank you, ill be back around 7:30 shh because I have to leave at 8 ish" she nodded

I went back up to my room and started putting clothes in the closet. Once I was done with that I grabbed my purse and refilled it with snacks for the day today especially since myra will be with me. I walked downstairs tot he kitchen and grabbed some breakfast for her and Manik becasue it was easier that way so Martha doesn't have to take it separately.

I knocked on Manik's door but I didn't hear anything so I knocked a few more times but still there was nothing so I pushed the door open and peaked in. Manik wasn't around so I walked inside to see myra cuddled up in blankets making me smile.
