"Myra" sir said and she looked at him
"Why are you here baby" he asked
"I was missing you" she said and I smiled hearing her
"But darling I have work and this is not good na, I was taking interviews and see you just wasted ms Murthy's time" he said and she pouted
"Ms muwy" she asked making me giggle
"He is talking about me" I said and she put her head on my shoulder looking at her dad
"Sowey papa" she said
"It's okay baby but we should get you back home" sir said
"No I wanna stay with nanini" she said with difficultly
"Myra come on" aunty said
"No no no" she wined putting her face in my neck
"Nanu tell him I wanna stay" she said in my neck and I was shook at the nickname she gave me
"Beta nandini needs to do her interview, how will she do it with you around"
"Ma'am if you don't mind I can hold her umm ill give the rest of the interviews sitting with her and you can sit beside me" I said
"Are you sure nandini"
"Yes" I said and she nodded
I sat down and sir asked me a few other questions which I answered but the whole time myra was playing with my necklace and aunty was staring at me for some reason or maybe she was starting at myra.
"Ms Murthy I like your confidence however there are some things that are lacking umm"
"Manik wait" ma'am said
"What" he asked
"Nandini does it matter what kind of job you have? okay no what I mean is are you in desperate need of a job no actually ahhh"
"Mom what are you talking about" sir said interrupting
"What I mean is nandini I'm gonna suggest something will you be okay to listen" she asked
"Of course ma'am"
"Don't call me ma'am, call me aunty or mom whichever sounds better, girl im only a few years older than you" she said making me giggle
"Actually just call me mom ya" she said and I was hesitant because I just met her and calling her mom I dont know but I nodded regardless
"Mom can you just get on with it"
"Okay so the thing is myra never and I mean never goes to anyone that's not manik, me, her grandfather or Manik's best friend or his wife but seeing you she went right in your arms. I dont know why she did that, but she seems to be very fond of you so will you be able to babysit her" she asked and I was kind of shook
"Babysit" myra said in my neck
"Umm aunty I don't know if I would be good at it" I said
"Mom she is my daughter and you are taking decisions on my behalf is something I do not appreciate and ms Murthy cannot anyways because she is hired" sir said and I was even more shook at him
"Hired" I asked and he nodded
"You'll get the papers by the end of the day, read and sign them and you can join tom" he said
"Oh my gosh ahhh, myra yayyy" I was so excited so I got up and started jumping around with myra who was laughing
"Yayyy" she screamed too making me chuckle at her
"Nanu we won" she asked and I nodded
"We won" I said and she put her tiny arms around my neck and kissed my cheek
"I am ploud of you nanu" she said and tears fell from my eyes
No one has ever said those words to me, not even my parents, but a little girl has said it to me. She is special and I hope I can keep in touch with her forever
"Thank you sweetie" I said kissing her cheek
"Ms Murthy you may leave now" I nodded but hearing this myra freaked out
"Nanu no go" she said holding me tighter
"Myra I need you to come here now baby" sir said
"No nanu no go" she repeated
"Myra she has to go home and dadu is waiting for you" sir said
"Papa plewease" she mumbled
"Myra now" he said in a firm tone and hearing him her face fell
"Ill bring you chocolate tom" I whispered kissing her cheek and her eyes lit up
"You will see me tomolow" she asked
"Yes I will" I said
"Don't make her fake promises ms Murthy, I am hiring you as my personal assistance not her mom so take the papers form richa who is outside and leave, be here sharp at 9 tomorrow or you are fired" he spoke
"Sorry for my son's behaviour nandini, he has a foul mouth sometimes. Here is my number call me whenever he is being hard on you but yes I will bring myra tom" she said and I smiled
"Thank you aunty"
"Call me mom" she said
"Thank you ma" I said and her eyes watered a little
"See you idiot, you should call me ma too" she said smacking sir's arm
"Mom seriously"
"Yes seriously" she said
"Ms Murthy get out" he said and I got up walking towards the door
"NOT WITH MY DAUGHTER MS MURHTY" he sort of screamed making me realize I was still holding myra.
"Sorry" I mummbled walking back to ma but he walked to me instead
He put his hand out and took a sleeping myra from my arms making me feel empty again. It was so weird, I have never felt like this before ever, but a single baby filled a void in my heart so quick, the void that I have been wanting to fill for so long.
I walked outside and richa handed me some papers, I went through them and signed them. Then I went home and got ready to start a brand new job at the biggest company ever. Maybe life was starting to fall back to place finally.
