Chapter Thirty-Six: Taking This One To The Grave

Henrik's Pov

The girls and I went to Mona's house because we needed help. Specifically, Mona's help.

When we got there we waited for her as her mom went to go get her. We heard footsteps and looked up to see Mona and her mom walking downstairs.

When Mona saw us she was obviously surprised, not expecting us to be here.

Mona walked over to us as her mom walked away.

"Why the grim faces? Did somebody die?" Mona asked.

"Nothing, yet" Hanna nervously said.

"It's what we think she's about to do" Aria added.

"We just found out that Ali's at the police station. She's talking to the cops" Emily said.

"And you don't know what she's telling them" Mona said in realization.

"A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on" Spencer said.

"Did Ali say that?" I asked, confused.

"No. Churchill did" Spencer and Mona said.

They both glanced at each other before looking away, causing me to snort slightly.

"Look, we've been lying for Ali ever since she got back. We need to know what story she's telling the cops" Hanna said.

"So why not ask her?" Mona asked.

"Because we don't believe she'll tell us the truth" I said and the girls nodded.

"And why do you think that I can help you?" Mona asked, a bit annoyed. 

"Because you're Mona" Aria said.

Mona sighed before walking towards her living room window to look outside.

The girls sat down on the couch while I sat down on the couch chair.

"Alison stole my life from me when she crowned me Rosewood's biggest loser. And she was so convincing, even I started to believe her" Mona explained.

I frowned, causing Mona to slightly smile at me.

"So that means you'll help us?" Hanna asked, hope in her tone.

"Look, I know I owe you guys for everything I've done to you. Especially you, Henrik" Mona said.

I nodded while Aria lightly glared at her, gently holding my hand.

"Look, I know I owe you guys for everything I've done to you. But I'm already number one on her hit list. If Alison finds out I'm siding with you guys, I'm afraid to think of how far she'd go to stop me" Mona explained.

"Are you really that scared of her?" Spencer asked.

"Aren't you? Isn't that why you're here?" Mona asked.

I opened my mouth to say something but stopped when Mona's mother walked into the room.

"I don't mean to interrupt your talk, but I wanted to bring these out while they're still warm. Hanna, is chocolate chip still your favorite?" Ms. Vanderwaal asked.

"So nice of you" Hanna smiled.

"But we have to go" Emily smiled.

"Oh, I'll send some home with you. I'll be right back" Ms. Vanderwaal said.

We nodded at her and watched as she left the room.

We all looked at each other before nodding as we got up, ready to leave, when Mona stopped us.
