Summary: Yoohyeon comes up with a plan for the reader, who doesn't want to be apart from her.

"That hurts," you whispered, and Kim Yoohyeon cringed.

"I'm sorry, honey." The doctor loosened her grip on the blood pressure monitor, allowing your sore arm a moment to recover. Your accident was weeks ago by now, but some places on your body still liked to remind you of it. Thank goodness you had Yoohyeon to help you.

The doctor set down the monitor on a nearby medical cart and carefully took your hand instead. "How's my girl feeling today?"

"Better now that you're here," you smiled weakly. Truth be told, your whole body was sore, you hadn't had good food in weeks, and you just wanted to leave the hospital already. But Yoohyeon was always like a ray of sunshine to you, dropping into your room every so often and brightening up your days.

"Mm, well, what are you gonna do when you go home and I'm not there?" Yoohyeon asked cheekily as she continued checking her vitals. The simple line made your heart race nervously, and you hated how Yoohyeon immediately knew, her eyes shooting to your face as she quickly dropped her stethoscope. "Oh, honey, I'm sorry," she apologized again.

"It's fine," you quickly responded. "I'll be okay."

"Mm," Yoohyeon hummed, looking down rather sadly at your hospital bed. "I wish that I could keep checking on you all the time. It makes me feel better when I can make sure that you're okay."

"That makes me feel better, too," you spoke.

Yoohyeon stood up, wrapping her stethoscope around the back of her neck and brushing off her doctor's coat. "Okay. I gotta go back to work. I'll be back, honey."

You just nodded, feeling like if you tried to speak, you might start to cry. You closed your eyes before Yoohyeon even opened the door, not wanting to see her leave.

The click of the handle made your eyes flutter, but you didn't open them. You just rolled onto your side and tucked your hands under your head, letting your mind swirl until you finally gave into a fitful sleep.

~

Yoohyeon paused in the doorway, her hand resting on the handle. She didn't want to leave you just yet, or ever, really, but especially after accidentally upsetting you. To be honest, it was something that she had been dreading, too – your release from the hospital. As glad as she was that you were recovering well, she didn't feel quite safe unless she knew that you were under her watchful eye. Yoohyeon took her hand away from the handle, leaning against the wall as quietly as she could.

She's just going to sleep? Yoohyeon wondered sadly as she watched you roll onto your side. Her heart fluttered as she watched the way that you frowned without opening your eyes, but it sank as she realized that you probably were imagining the worst scenarios about leaving the hospital that you could.

It wasn't long, however, before your mouth parted slightly, your breathing getting slower and deeper, and Yoohyeon knew that you had fallen asleep. Carefully, she crept to your bedside and climbed in beside you, her arm wrapping around your waist as she pulled you close.

~

You were falling, falling fast. The concrete staircase of the building that was covered with broken clocks and blue roses was crumbling with each racing step that you took as you practically tumbled down. If you didn't hurry, you would be trapped in the rubble. But to your horror, you realized as you reached it that the landing of the second floor suddenly dropped off. Everything else had fallen around you, and you had no choices left but to fall. You looked back at the concrete avalanche beginning to pool at your feet, and that was when you screamed.

~

"Honey! Wake up! Baby, baby," Yoohyeon was calling frantically, and you realized with a whimper that the doctor was cradling you in her arms, her eyes wide. Something told you that she hadn't just rushed in, given that her shoes were off and she was fully laying on your bed.

"Bad dream," you mumbled, your face burning bright red with embarrassment. You tucked your head in the crook of Yoohyeon's neck to hide it. "I'm fine."

"No, you're not," Yoohyeon whispered. She had begun to rub your back soothingly, and she pulled you even closer to her chest so that you could feel her steady heartbeat. "I'm here, honey, don't worry. Your dream wasn't real, you're safe with me."

"But..." you whimpered, and Yoohyeon waited patiently for you to continue. "You won't always be."

"What?!" If she hadn't been holding you, Yoohyeon probably would have jumped out of the bed in shock. "Who says, honey?"

"Well, I have to go home," you replied, your voice taking on a hint of annoyance. It was obvious – you would have to leave, and Yoohyeon couldn't exactly pop into your bedroom or your office at work every hour to check on you.

"Well, while I was laying here with you," Yoohyeon began, her face suddenly flushing bright red as she realized that she had just admitted to what you had already suspected, "I was thinking about that, and, well, I think that we both might feel better if I could still keep an eye on you. What do you think about that?"

"Well, I can't live here forever," you whispered, gesturing at your hospital room. "So, do you have any other suggestions?"

"Stay with me. In my home. Even if it's just for a little bit, I mean, I know that you have your own place and you're probably paying the rent on it and it's close to your work and—"

"I would love to stay with you, Yoohyeon."

"Then you'll be okay, right?"

"Of course. I'll always be okay as long as I'm with you."
