Summary: JiU buys the reader, her roommate and girlfriend, a surprise gift while out shopping.

"Hey, babe! Baby!" Kim JiU's yell from the hallway already had you on your feet by the time that she opened the door to your shared room.

"Unnie, what's wrong?" you questioned worriedly. "Are you okay?"

"Baby, look!" With cheeks flushed and eyes bright, JiU proudly held out a simple brown paper shopping bag.

"What's this?" you asked, quietly taking deep breaths to steady your racing heart. "It's not my birthday or any special occasion – I, I mean, I'm not forgetting something, am I?"

"No, no," JiU replied dismissively. "It's just for fun! Hurry up, take it, open it."

"I'm so touched that you would think of me when you were out shopping, unnie," you said. Her generous ways never failed to make your heart flutter. It was your favorite thing about her, aside from her sweet smile.

"Oh, you didn't!" You tossed the paper bag aside as you pulled neatly folded flannel from its depths and held the fabric close. You already knew what it was, but you didn't quite believe that JiU had gone out and bought it until you looked up and saw what she had been holding behind her back.

"Couple pajamas?" you asked, your eyes widening as you looked down at the pair in your own hands. They were crimson striped, the soft fabric neatly sewn into cozy long sleeves and pants that you could tell would be almost too long on you – just how you liked them.

"I got you my favorite color, and I got myself this one – this is still yours, right?" JiU asked, glancing at the sapphire pair in her own grasp. "If you'd rather, we can switch—"

"No, I like them this way," you quickly asserted. "Ah, unnie, now we're really like a married couple." You leaned forward as you spoke until you were inches from her face, finally letting the stupid smile that had threatened to spread over your lips do just that.

JiU wrapped her arms around your shoulders, the grin on her own face widening as she did so. "We live together," you continued. "We share a room, and usually a bed, too – and now we have couple pajamas."

"And," JiU began. The constant twinkle in her chocolate eyes sparkled brighter as she spoke, a general indication that she was up to no good. "We love each other."

You rolled your eyes at the statement, pushing on JiU's chest just hard enough to release yourself from her embrace. "Just because I'm the only person that you show love to..."

"You love me." JiU's sweetly firm voice made your hands that were pulling off the price tags freeze in place.

You sighed slightly, your smile softening as you set down the pajamas and returned to JiU's embrace. "Fine. I love you, you idiot."

Perhaps using the least formal words possible for your sentence was not the smartest choice, however.

"Don't speak informally to me like that," JiU reprimanded. Her voice remained as unyielding as ever, but she swept a single finger across your cheek as she spoke, returning your smile.

"For heavens' sakes, unnie, we're dating."

"You're still younger."

"Why are you so strict with me?!"

"You're always so traditional," JiU countered, her brow arching in mild surprise. "Don't you always make sure that Yoohyeonie speaks to you formally? And weren't you the one who taught Dongie everything she knows about formality and traditions?"

"JiU!" You could hardly get the whiny name out before she covered your mouth with her hand.

"Don't – speak – informally – to – me – again!" she commanded. Each word was clipped and accented with a firm but ever-so-slight nod of her head for emphasis, as though the faux anger in her eyes didn't give her away.

"Ah, JiU-ssi." A giggle that sounded painfully nervous escaped your lips when she removed her hand from your mouth. "Please forgive me, unnie."

"That's what I was looking for," JiU whispered. As her gaze swept upwards from your lips to your eyes, she let out a sudden laugh of her own.

"What, what?" you asked, suddenly self-conscious. You felt your hand rise automatically to your lips, touching them gently as if checking to see if something was wrong with them.

"Your face is as red as a tomato."

"Unnie!" you moaned. You pushed JiU away again, your hands less gentle as you lurched out of her grasp. You turned away quickly, but not fast enough.

"What are you embarrassed for?" she chided. She grabbed your chin, tilting it so that your eyes met once more. "I'm just teasing you. It's cute."

If you had a response to her statement, you wouldn't have been able to say it regardless. You were suddenly frozen both physically and mentally. Your only point of focus was JiU's eyes, which became questioning. "What's wrong?"

"What? Nothing."

"Okay, then," JiU replied bemusedly. She let go of her grip on you and began removing the tags and stickers on her own pajama set, and you watched her slender fingers rip the cardstock with a rather attractive ease. Abruptly, her hands paused over her work as her head shot up to look at you.

"What?"

"Huh?" The realization that you had been staring at her without moving warranted an "Oh...! Nothing," a moment later.

"Right, 'nothing' again," JiU snorted softly before her gaze returned to the pajamas. "Try them on, make sure they fit."

"Okay," you replied quietly. Though changing in front of any of your members – especially your roommate – was routine, you suddenly felt as shy as the first time that you had done so.

Noticing your hesitancy, JiU mistook your shyness for something different. "Are you sure that you don't want the blue ones?"

"No, I want these," you quickly assured her.

"Alright," JiU said, her voice holding a rather uncertain twinge.

With a quick deep breath in, you slipped off your shirt and replaced it with the warm pajama top – well, attempted to.

"Ah, my nails," you sighed in frustration. You glared at the buttons that were far too tiny for you to push through their holes with the long pink acrylics topping your fingers, a rather annoying idol requirement in your eyes.

But all of a sudden, you were about to see an unexpected benefit of your glamorous nails.

"Let me," JiU stopped you. Before you could even blink, her hands were pushing yours aside and reaching for the garment.

"Oh—" you began. You felt a slight wave of panic run through your body as her warm skin made contact with your own. JiU started at the bottom of the shirt, her fingers gracefully fastening the buttons in record time – but not quickly enough for you to avoid shivering.

She didn't say anything, but the half-smile on JiU's face told you that she noticed the chill run down your spine. As she moved her hands up to your chest, she worked slower and left the top two buttons undone just as you always did on yourself. "Is that good?" she whispered. Her eyes flitted upwards slightly, not quite meeting your gaze.

You nodded, clearing your throat after a pause. "Yeah."

"Okay." JiU hardly cared, you noticed, to remove her hands from the top. Albeit at a snail's pace, she did so, however – until you stopped her.

"Wait," you whispered. You gulped as you realized that you had no idea what you were saying or doing, but as usual, JiU was one step ahead of you. Her lips formed another perfect half-smile that entranced you just long enough for you not to realize that she was going to kiss you until it happened.

But just as quickly as the sweet kiss had begun, it ended. You looked at JiU questioningly, your eyes filled with desperate craving, but she simply winked in response. "The rest can wait until we are in bed...just like a married couple."
