(Super short chapter!)
Azura
I knock on the door. The house is quiet so it must mean the demons are away on a mission or an errand.
The door unlocks and opens and I see my father.
"Dad." I barely whisper. My eyes were already watering with the memories of yesterday. Of how he told me Miles could betray me. Of how Miles did. Of how I ran out because I couldn't stand to think Miles would do that.
But he did.
"Zura." He sighs and hugs me. I break. I'm sobbing into his chest and my sobs rack my body.
I've never felt like this. Why am I feeling like my heart was just pulled out of my chest?
"Shh-Shh. It's alright." My dad kisses the top of my head and leads me inside before locking the door.
"I'm so sorry. You were right." I mumble. My dad tenses. I freeze.
I just realized what I said.
My dad now knows that Miles does have my mother.
"Dad."
"Where did he put her?"
"Dad, he said he didn't have a choice. He couldn't-"
"He kidnapped your mother, Azura!"
"I know, dad! I know. But I know he didn't do it by choice. He wouldn't."
"You don't know shit! He said himself he kidnapped her. Why are you defending him?" My dad backs away as if he's scared what he'll do to me. That makes me terrified. I back away toward the door.
"Because he didn't have a choice." I say quietly.
I jump as I hear glass shatter on the floor.
I look up and my dads furious.
I run toward my car and I drive. I don't look back.
I've been on the road for 2 hours now. Not driving. Just parked. I can't bring myself to get on the road because I know I'm not stable yet.
But after just contemplating. I know what I have to do.
I have to get my mother.
