Chapter 8 : The Plan

Maya's POV

I can't believe Riley, how could she go behind my back and kiss my boyfriend I thought she cared about me, I guess she was just jealous.

I'm sitting with Rebel at the steps of the school hallway,

" it's just she's my best friend and I don't want to let myself believe she would do this" I frown,

"maybe she isn't as good a bestfriend as you thought" he suggests,

"no" I sigh. I rest my head on his shoulder,

"maybe your right".

I hear my phone buzzing again, "ugh it's Riley again" I groan,

"just answer it" Rebel says,

" should I?" I sigh,

"oh too late" Rebel says looking up,

"Maya, please can I talk to you" Riley says,

is she serious, how can I trust her.

I look up at her almost black eyes, and I shrug,

she frowns,

"please?".

I sigh and hold out my hand, she pulls me up.

Although now that I'm at eye level I can see that she had been crying, her eyes were red.

"Maya it's been three days" Riley begins dragging me to her locker,

"three days since you kissed my boyfriend" I say,

"yeah about that, I'm really sorry" she looks down to the left,

" I was worried for you, I was worried Rebel wasn't right for you, I thought he was a bad guy Maya and I didn't want you under the wrong influence" RIley continues.

"So what, you kissed him?" I question squinting my eyes,

I look into her eyes but she won't make contact with me and I can tell she's thinking hard.

Riley's POV

I don't know what to do, I'm not ready for this.

How can I possibly tell Maya it was Rebel who kissed ME, I doubt she would believe me anyway.

"Maya if you know me, you know I would never do such a thing" I say taking long deep breaths,

the past three nights have been sleepless, with Lucas gone and Maya gone, I just can't handle this and my mine just buzzes 24/7 with thoughts.

"Maya, your my best friend in the whole world, I would never do anything to hurt you" I sigh,

she purses her lips,

"I guess your right" she says , looking at her feet,

"but what now?" she questions looking back up at me,

Maya's POV

I kind of feel sorry for Riley, I mean she takes things to heart, she wears her hurt on her sleeve and always knows what to say.

I feel like her loosing Lucas was my fault, but I am complete unsure of what to do to make it up to her.

"Have you tried talking to him" I ask, Maya and I are sitting in her window,

"yes. I've tried everything" she sighs, " I really think he hates me, and I doubt we can even be friends again".

"Riley, we'll work this out" I say placing my hand on her shoulder,

Rebel and I are still dating, I've forgiven him for that incident and all that stress was really building up on me, but I kind of feel like his getting really needy, I mean yesterday when I didn't want to hang out with him and ditch class he got really mad and wouldn't stop text raging at me.

Whatever, I know him and I are meant to be, and at times he's a total sweet heart and would do anything to make it up to me after we fight.

"What you need is an excuse to have Lucas over" I say thinking out loud,

hmm,

"he won't answer any of my texts or calls, he does nothing but give a disappointed smile to me at school, how am I going to get him to come to my house Maya!" Riley exclaims.

My phone buzzes, " you gonna get that?" Riley asks,

I see her look at the caller ID,

"I'm good" I smile, my mind focusing on the issue of Lucas.

then a text pops up,

my phone is on the window sill right now beside me and I pick it up,

Answer Maya

then another

why are you always ignoring me, don't be a bitch

"you okay?" Riley questions with a suspicious tone in her voice,

"Riley" I assure her, " I'm fine."

I pick up my phone

Maya : I'm at Riley's house chill x

Rebel : I need you

R : why do you take so long to reply, do you have some disability or something

M: I'm at Riley's house babe, I will be over as soon as I can

R : hurry up and get your fat ass over here

I sigh, " I have to go" I say to Riley,

and climb out.

Riley's POV

Maya just left....

all of a sudden,

I saw her phone, the caller ID was Rebel trying to get through to her, but why would she ignore him I mean aren't they in love.

I tilt my head and open up my laptop,

search : Rebel Maggart

I scroll through his profile, I knew this kid was trouble,

I see pictures of him drinking at parties, pictures of him with other girls,

and comments on other profiles from him being really nasty to other people.

I know there's no hope off me getting her to break up with him, or the other way around ofcourse.

I was looking at a picture of Rebel at a party, his shirt off laying with some girls smoking what I make out to be as weed.

At this point in time, two ideas pop into my head.

I have a way to get Lucas back, and a way to get Maya to break up with Rebel.

I slide open my phone and open Maya's contact,

R : sound out the invites ; party at my place Friday.

I don't have to wait long for Maya's response,

M : knew you would think of something, I'll convince Lucas to come! I'll see you then.
