Mariana's POV

That's how we were for the next few months
"Tommy" I moaned
Down the canal. We'd wait for each other
"Oh god" he picked up the pace
Round the back of the house at night
"Fuck" he groaned, burying his head in the back of my neck

The stables.
The office.
Our rooms.
"Fuck... faster" I moaned.

We couldn't stay away from each other.
And in the mean time. Around everyone we were just us.
Tommy and Mariana
Best friends who were a little bit too close these days. We just hoped no one would notice.

We couldn't deal with the teasing. The taunting
The jokes
Everyone sticking their noses in.

We just agreed that if this went somewhere then it did and if it didn't then we'd still be friends.
No pressure.
"Mar" he called out, I looked over my shoulder, Tommy stood grinning along side Freddie at the betting shop window.

"Yes?" I asked politely, leaning out
"You still coming pub later?" Freddie asked, I nodded
"You still doing that job today?" I asked
"Yeah, won't be back till late" he said, placing a white bag on the counter between us.

"Okay" I chuckled
"What's this?" I asked, opening the bag to a pile of blue sweets
He just smiled
"I've got to grab something, hang on" he said, clapping Freddie on the back and disappearing into the house.

"Right what is going on?" Freddie asked
"What?" I asked
"You two, you're fucking stuck to each other like flies on shit. And now he's bringing you sweets" he laughed.

I shrugged
"He's just being nice, he's brought me sweets before" I said
"Mm, and what's he getting in return for being nice?" He asked
"Good bye Freddie" I chuckled, moving to shut the window

"I'm serious. Are you two fucking?" He asked, stopping me from shutting the hatch
"No, don't be stupid" I said
"Then you won't mind if I set you up with my mate Sammy" he said.

"No" I rolled my eyes
"Because you're with Tommy" he grinned, as if he had worked it out
"No, because Sammy is an idiot who only cares about how many pints he can sink on a Friday" I said, finally shutting the window.

I sighed, beginning to sort the slips I had taken during the lunch hour, when a pair of hands grabbed my waist
"Ooh, oh Tommy" I said in surprise as he turned me around, pulling me up to sit on the table.
