"Well, go on Mr. Felip." Mr. Santoro says.
I clear my throat looking down as Mr. Santoro has a seat in his chair, staring pensively at Mr. Felip as he unbuttons his suit jacket.

"I have a business proposition for you Santoro." He pauses glancing at me and back at Mr. Santoro.

Mr. Santoro raises a brow, making him gulp before continuing, "I was hoping that you would invest your funds and resources into my company. My company's value is increasing which is angering many people and I need protection. I was hoping your company could provide it."

Mr. Santoro glances at me as if gesturing for me to respond. I shake my head slightly but he just sends me an encouraging nod. I look back at Mr. Felip, who is looking at Mr. Santoro expectantly.

Clearing my throat again, I say, "Well based on how you treated me earlier, I'd say you don't know much about how to treat your employees. Which is essentially, a big part of the Loris Enterprises. It would arise a scandal if Mr. Santoro would make such a poor business choice as to invest in the company of a sexist man."

I look back at Mr. Santoro, fidgeting with my fingers nervously.

Way to get yourself fired before you get your first paycheck.

"Miss Matthews is entirely correct. I have a reputation to uphold and I do not wish for it to tarnish because of a poor investment into a company of a man who does not know how to treat people—let alone women—with respect." He nods, standing and buttoning his suit jacket.

"B-but- how can you listen to this-" Mr. Felip is cut off by Mr. Santoro's dark glare.

"Say another word Mr. Felip. You of all people should know very well of what I am capable of." He says, his voice dripping with disdain for the man.

Mr. Felip gulps, wishing us both a good day before rushing out of the office.

When the door shuts, Mr Santoro rounds the desk. He leans against it, gesturing for me to stand and move closer to him.

I stand, taking a step forward but still leaving space between us.

"You did very well Alora. Might I dare say, I'm proud." He says and I blush looking down at my shoes.
