Hunter has been spending most of his time with Edric. He'd come to accept Edric and his antics enough to go on dates with him. At first, it was awkward. Hunter has never been in a date. But as the dates progressed, Hunter became more and more comfortable. And Edric noticed and his antics increased.
Today, Edric has taken Hunter to the Knee as a date. The tallest mountain in the state. Though, they weren't at the top, they were still considerably high. And they were doing the most dangerous things thing Hunter had ever done. Sledding
"This is the Knee. I don't think we're going to make it out alive"
"Thank you for staying where we are" Edric remarked "now get on"
"No!"
"Come on" Edric urged
"I swear to Titan if you say trust a good devil I'll—"
"Why do you think so little of me?" Edric smirked
"I'm not getting in that thing"
"We can get coffee after this"
"Fine" Hunter rushed to the sled and sat down, waiting for Edric while also regretting agreeing to this. So much for romanticism. Edric sat down behind him, positioning himself so they could begin Hunter's nightmare.
Edric pushes with his left hand and slowly, the sled started to move.
"Let the games begin" Edric said as the sled rolled, quickening in pace until Hunter started to scream
"We're going to die!" Hunter shouted
"Have fun!" Edric shouted back
There were approaching trees now. Hunter's heart could not endure any more torture. And he did not know how to steer
"I'm going to die!" He repeated
"We're Not going to die!" Edric said. He took control, steering as Hunter could not. Veering to the left, they were quick to turn before they crashed into a tree
"Rock!" Hunter pointed out
"Balls! Balls! Balls! Balls! Balls!" He quickly leaned to the right to avoid the rock, only grazing it
"Close Your eyes!" Edric requested
"Are you Crazy?"
"Trust me!" Hunter presses his eyelids together at Edric's request and his heart thumped against his chest harder and harder.
"Woo!" They were slowing, Hunter could feel it but only wished it came sooner. All until the sled came to a halt and Hunter opened his eyes again. He wanted to throw up but didn't have the energy to anymore
Edric helped him up with a smile but Hunter's head spun.
"You ok?"
"I'm never doing that again" Hunter groaned
"Repeat after me: balls balls balls balls balls"
"Balls balls balls balls balls" Hunter repeated. And for some reason, his head was clearing and his heart rate slowed "how did that work?"
"I don't know" Edric shrugged "Em taught it to me"
"I believe I was promised coffee" Hunter said with one final sigh
"Come, on, handsome, let's get you some coffee"

"Favorite brand" Edric and Hunter walked hand-in-hand in the street. Something they'd always do. But Hunter was always a little bit less comfortable with letting everyone see them being intimate. It may have meant nothing to Edric but Hunter didn't take intimacy lightly
"I don't have one" Hunter replied
"That's impossible" Edric said
"How?"
"Well, there has to be something you prefer" Hunter thought about it for a second. But shrugged
"Maybe under-armour" Hunter replied
"Hm? Good choice" Hunter hummed in amusement
"What about you?" Hunter asked
"Louis Vuitton because I deserve the best"
"Mhm, I bet you do" they turned to the street at which the school stood then stopped right in front of it.
"Hey," Edric said, tugging at Hunter's jacket "I know you're getting kind of stressed because of your project. So, I was wondering if you'd like to hang out tomorrow"
"I feel like this is a trap" Hunter said, causing Hunter to chuckle
"Nothing adrenaline inducing, i promise" Edric smiled
"I could use a break" Hunter answered, trailing in thought
"Great, I'll see you at seven tomorrow" Edric smiled. Edric's smile was infectious. Soon, Hunter was smiling too. And they both leaned in involuntarily. Their first kiss. Was Hunter ready? No. He didn't think their relationship would come this far.
When Hunter came to his senses, he pushed away. He was not ready. And the smile on Edric's face told him that he understood.
"I'll see you tomorrow" Edric did lean in again but this time to kiss Hunter on his cheek.
"See...you..."
