When Five finally woke up, Luther went to get him a cup of water. An awkward silence follows right after Luther leaves the room. Of course, this wasn't a problem for me because I was reading my book.

"You're unusually quiet." Five observes.

I look up from my book and raise an eyebrow at him. "I'm always quiet when I read a book." I point out. We lapse into silence after that. I can't focus on my book because I can literally feel him staring at me. My head snaps up from my book as I shoot Five a glare.

"What?" I snap.

He gives me a complex look. "I'm just waiting for you to start shoving it in my face." He says.

What? "Shove what in your face?" I ask.

He raises an eyebrow like it's the simplest thing in the world. Well, Five it's not. "The fact that you're a better person than me." He says reluctantly.

Ohhh. Well, about that. I try not to laugh. "To be honest I'd only say something If I'd killed more people than you." But I can't say anything because you're not supposed to know. Because we all know that by now, I would have shoved it in your face.

He nods his head, like what I just said made sense. Okay, what the fuck is going on? Five would never agree with me. I scoff. "Just spit it out already, dumbass." I can tell he has something to say to me.

He looks like he's about to act like he doesn't know what I'm talking about, but quickly decides against it. He sighs, giving up.

"I think we should make a temporary truce." He says.

A truce? What does he mean? "What?" I am so confused right now. What happened to Five, and who the hell is this?

He looks away embarrassed. "If we're going to focus on saving the world, we can't be arguing about the stupidest things. It's distracting."

I guess he does have a point. Now I feel guilty, he finally wants my help after all these years, but the one thing he asks for help on is something I can't do. "Okay, fine, but as long as you promise to agree with me on everything." I joke.

He ignores my comment. I guess he's really committed to this truce thing. "I guess It's about time I start trusting you, then." He says.

At that moment my composure breaks. Did he really have to say that? He wants to trust me. And here I am working for the other side. I quickly pull myself together before I tell Five the whole truth. I can't, everything that I have sacrificed that led me to this point will mean nothing if I don't carry out this plan.

"You were a hitman?" Luther asks Five when he hands him the cup of water.

"Yes."

Luther gives Five an alarmed look. "Uh...I mean, you had a code, right?" Luther asks. Luther sits down on a nearby chair. "You didn't just kill anybody."

It's kinda sweet how Luther still wants to believe the best of Five. Kinda. Five shakes his head. "No code." He says.

Five glances at me, as if he's expecting me to be outraged. I almost snort. I've killed more people than you Five, I can't say anything.

Five gives me a questioning look before turning back to Luther. "We took out anyone who messed with the timeline."

Luther looks at Five in disbelief. "What about innocent people?" Luther ask.

"It was the only way I could get back here." Five defends himself.

"But that's murder."

Five scoffs. "Jesus, Luther, grow up. We're not kids anymore. There's no such thing as good guys or bad guys. There's just people, goin' about their lives. But when the world ends, all those people die, including our family." Five says.
