Harumi was trying to brainstorm. Actually, everyone was. After the broadcast, the Resistance left in the old Sons of Garmadon base were plotting their next defense against the spellcasters. Truthfully, it wasn't going that well, but the girls had something else on their minds. They were huddled in a dark corner of the main room, watching Harumi sit alone brainlessly, on the other end, trying to think.
"She needs to get it out of her system somehow," Kaitlynn mumbled softly, thinking she was quiet enough for Harumi to not hear, but the blonde did, thanks to years of perceptive, trained ears. "Harumi has to let go." But how?" Lilla looked over at Harumi. "It's not that easy. None of us would be able to take on a past like she has. Her life was never normal."We have to talk to her," Jade said firmly. "I don't think she's focusing enough on helping herself. She's more concerned about the ninja and whoever else is missing."She started silently trying to communicate with Lilla, jerking her head towards Harumi, signaling to go talk to her. Lilla rolled her eyes and set off to the other side, pulling the other two with her. "Harumi," Jade said tentatively, "Um. . .we think. . .that. . .you should. . .be less hard on yourself. . . a-and--""Can we talk to you? Again?" Kaitlynn cut in bluntly, with no trace of emotion on her face.Harumi looked each of them dead in the eye and wordlessly stood up, moving towards the door that led to the prisons. She held the door open for them and locked it behind her, leaning against it with a sigh."What," she said flatly. "I already promised I won't pull something again."
"It's not just that," Jade grasped her shoulders, shaking her gently. "It's that you. Need. To talk. To us. About. Everything. And anything."
Harumi closed her eyes more and more with each shake, as if it was breaking her apart.

"You can't force a wound to heal," she said plainly.
"If you leave a wound alone for too long without doing anything about it, it will become infected, and much harder to cure, which is precisely what happened to you," Lilla argued. "Harumi. . .please. . .tell us. What happened?"
Harumi shut her eyes, and they all waited, anticipation in their eyes. Finally, when she opened them, they had a faraway, dull look in them.
"It started with the Great Devourer," she said, her voice wavering and cracking. "My parents died because of that giant snake. I was angry that the ninja couldn't stop it, so I made it my life's mission to make them suffer. I eventually resurrected the then-evil Lord Garmadon, but it all started changing once he returned. Regret happened, and I joined back with Lloyd. Being the Quiet One is one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. I allied with the other ninja. They became as close as family to me, not substitutes for the family I lost, but like brothers and sisters. We had so many adventures together. We fought so many villains, Zackery the Oni prince, Garmadon himself, and so many more. I was tortured, attacked, close to dead, and having nightmares. That was Zephyr's fault, and no one believed me when I said he was dangerous at the Tournament of Elements. I thought I could trust them, but I doubted that so many times. Broken trust, broken heart, and blaming everything on myself."Harumi fell silent, and she felt tears slide down her cheeks again as her ribs were crushed in a tight embrace. She didn't hate it this time.
"And now, they're gone. And it's up to me to find them and defend Ninjago. I'm going."
She drew out of the group hug, heading for the door back to the common room, but Kaitlynn pulled her back immediately."Oh, no no no," she replied. "You're not going ANYWHERE by yourself. You need to wait until we know what we're doing."
Harumi was about to object, but she took one look at their stubborn faces, thinking something else now.
"Okay," she lied. The others' expressions relaxed, and they turned to leave. The second they did, Harumi turned and set off in a silent sprint toward the hidden exit in the back of the dungeons.
Jade, Lilla, and Kaitlynn headed into the main room, completely unaware."Now, have you come up with anything, Harumi?" Jade asked, to be met with silence. "Harumi??" They all spun around to see empty space, and took a simultaneous sharp intake of air.

Harumi was running as fast as she could, going anywhere her feet took her.She came to a screeching halt when she saw smoke in the sky a few blocks away from her.Her energy renewed, she ran even faster, ignoring the burn in her legs. She stopped again, poking out behind one of the buildings not on fire, and finally saw Zephyr. The fire in her flamed higher. It was an uncontrollable rage and pain, driving her to fight. She finally was ready to let it out, and raised her foot to step out from behind her hiding place.Suddenly, she was yanked sharply backwards, and Harumi fell flat on her back, gasping, looking into the faces of three furious friends.
