You felt a warm coat fall over your shoulders, as you stood outside the Angel's Share, with your thoughts wandering and cold air caressing your cheeks.

Master Diluc frowned at you and you smiled at him innocently.

'Is something the matter?' he asked, visibly concerned.

'No, no. Don't worry about me.' You forced a more convincing smile as you tightened the grip on his coat. 'I'm fine, really. You don't need to hang out with me. I know it might seem like a depressing scenery but even the moon is kind of pink tonight, so really it's not that bad' you assured him.

Diluc nodded, although and despite what you had just said, leaned his back on the wall in front of you.

'It's way too cold to spend a night out here, you know' he pointed out.

'Yeah but it's... It's easier to breathe.'

Diluc frowned as he leaned to you and pressed the top of his hand to your forehead.

You would never say it out loud but for some reason, feeling the warmth of his skin against yours made you at the same time calm and safe but your muscles also tensed and heart fastened.

And even if he noticed any of that, Diluc didn't say anything. He backed away, leaning his back on the wall again, facing you but with his looking somewhere beyond you or maybe even the moment you were in. It was a slightly disturbing look but you didn't ask about it. He was a man of many secrets, after all, and he probably wouldn't tell you anything. Or even if he answered, it most likely would be lies. And you didn't want to be deceived. Not by him.

Silence lasted for what seemed at least like infinity. And that was about then, when silly ideas started to pop up in your head.

You knew damn well that looking up at his face here and now wasn't the best idea.

But you were good at making poor decisions and really, you could help yourself – he had sharp, firm features emphasised by shadows and moonlight, reflecting on his skin. He had eyes fixed on you, with that burning, yet gentle fire behind them. Everything about him seemed mesmerizing and deadly.

It was a silly thought but many times before and especially now, it crossed your mind that you could learn how to write poetry or paint or even close time in a bottle to immortalize those few moments you spent with him. However, you had a feeling like art wouldn't be enough - not for your greed - and besides the imperfections it had, could destroy the preciousness of memories. Usually, after that first thought, came another idea – to keep Diluc by your side and for yourself forever.

Suddenly, as you mindlessly kept your gaze fixed at his face, Ragnvindr raised his eyes and crossed them with yours, and as you felt a strange warm rush inside you, he only smiled.

Stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

He knew. This damned bastard knew what he was doing to you and was playing with you, waiting for you to realize how much you were letting your guard down around him and how much you would allow him to do to you, for one reason only. – because you, silly little thing, were in love with Diluc Ragnvindr.

'Let's head inside, shall we?' He offered you an arm, with softened, unusual for him, expression on his face. You turned away, pretending to look at the night sky but in reality trying to hide your flushed face. 'I'll treat you to some apple cider, what do you say?'

'How could I say 'no' to such gentleman as you, master Diluc?'

He rolled his eyes and sighed but you caught a glimpse of amusement in his eyes.

'For you it's just Diluc, y/n.'
