Author's POV

The curtains were flowing in a rhythm as the chilly breeze was continuously hitting them.

He poured himself another strong drink and stirred the ice cubes in it. Everything was seeming different today...even the basic usual things he witness everyday, were making him happy.

His gaze was fixated on the potrait which was hanging gracefully on the purple velvet coloured wall.

A woman was beautifully painted, her waist length hair was tied in a messy braid which was curved on her back like a snake.

The left side of her face was visible as her back was facing Arjun.

He never really observed that painting before. It was gifted by one of his business clients during a tour to abroad.

But tonight, something was intriguing him to observe that painting keenly. His intense gaze was fixed on it without blinking.

"Saanvi" a whisper left his red wet lips as a strong storm of emotion ran through his veins.

Getting on his feet, he started taking slow steps towards the potrait.

The back of the woman became more visible. Arjun grazed his fingers on it, as if feeling it...drinking it.

A strong gush of wind hit his face making him smile. He used to hate monsoon but can't say the same now.

His windows which used to remain closed mostly, were now opened making the curtains flow freely.

"She hasn't rejected you, right?" A mocking voice caught his attention and the smile soon got replaced by a frown.

"What are you doing here?" Arjun asked in a bored tone and took his previous seat on the couch.

"Came to meet my friend. But found a Devdas in his room" Advik replied biting back a chuckle recieving a glare from his friend.

"Now tell me. Any progress?" Advik questioned making a drink for himself. Arjun sighed rubbing his forehead and leaned back on the couch.

"No" he answered shortly, he was upset about the same. He obviously wanted to initiate but how?

"So? What's the plan now?" Advik asked taking a seat beside him.

Advik was observing his friend keenly. The guy who stays cold and non expressive seemed lost somewhere.

Advik felt happy seeing the smile on his friend's lips.

"I don't know. What do you think?" Arjun asked back for his opinion as he knew Advik is quite experienced in these things.

Advik was in love with her employee and kept trying to persuade, obviously in a sincere manner. He finally succeeded after two long years and now they are happily married.

"You sure she likes you?" Advik couldn't help but asked again. He doesn't know why but there is this feeling inside him which is telling that this attraction or love whatever it is. It is one sided only.

"She does" Arjun said taking a sip of his drink.

The memories of her smiling and laughing with him invaded his mind. How freely she talked to him this morning. She seemed comfortable with him and he is glad about that.

"Okay. So take her out, I mean ask her to go on dates with you. In this way, you both will be able to know each other in a better manner" Arjun found his friend"s idea quite logical.

"Yeah you are right. But will she agree?" Arjun's tone fell a bit as the thought of getting rejected by her came in his mind.

"Ask her out nicely" Advik said patting his shoulder to which Arjun nodded.
