"So, what do you think? Is it possible there can be something at this address?" Asked Julian.

"It is possible." Detective Reiner scratched his chin. "I don't understand how this was right in our hand. We didn't even notice. It makes me wonder how many small clues were invisible in our eyes. I must apologize to you, Xemina, on behalf of the forensic team. Their lack of unprofessionalism could have had a tremendous impact on this case."

"No worries. What is important is moving forward. I understand you keep the investigation private, and it is in your right not to tell us the details, but you may understand that I am not hearing anything, and it makes me anxious that this case has turned into a cold case. With this information, if you could tell me what strategy you are employing to solve those cases quickly, it would ease our minds."

After we found out about the paper. We reported it immediately, but the bureau was closed. We waited until morning to meet with Detective Reiner. I wasn't a criminal, but it was nerve-racking to be on the perimeter with so many people within the law. The way they were eyeing Julian didn't make things easier. It was a friendly reminder that this guy was very wanted, and they were ready to jump his bones at any moment. However, he didn't mind at all. He was comfortably strolling around. After half an hour of mental torture, we finally had a private moment with Detective Reiner in his office.

We showed him the paper and the letter; he was shocked. His face graphed a range of confusing and reliving emotions. We explained to him our theory that led to this discovery. I appreciated how he listened and took notes instead of being arrogant and treating us like a bunch of kids who had no idea what they were doing.

"I understand your worries. But with this thing has changed. I think we have a chance to end this now! I will request a searching warrant today, and by tomorrow I need to have this place searched because it is intriguing. I went over all Mark's properties, and there is not a single one in this area." He pointed at the paper. "But if Julian's thoughts are correct, then there's a chance we can catch your mother-."

"Respectfully, sir, may I ask you not to call her my mother? She has a name, and it's Catalina." I cut him off with rather a firm and bland tone. I didn't want to come off, dude, but it scratched my skin when they called her my mother as if there was a bond. There weren't any, and she wasn't my family. I didn't know that woman.

Julian sent me a questioning look standing next to the window, but it turned into sympathy and comfort once he understood.

"Right. I am sorry to offend you." Detective Reiner apologized.

"It's alright. Just a minor preference." I slightly smiled to boost the mood. "But please continue to explain."

"If you find all the evidence at this address, what will you do?" Julian questioned.

"If we find everything that confirms our theory, we will publicly declare the arrest warrant. The three culprits have been roaming around freely, and I think it's time to end it and hold them accountable."

"And what if you don't find anything?"

"Well... back to square one. This is why I have you staying, Xemina. I am assuming she is desperate, and she will make a move on you. That will give us a lead."

"So you using her as bait?" Julian frowned and almost yelled. "What if she gets hurt?"

"Julian..." I stopped him. "I am fine with that. You're right. She is desperate. Certainly, she will come after me, and this time has to be the last."
