«Il n'y a qu'un bonheur dans la vie, c'est d'aimer et d'être aimé. -George Sand»

«There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved.»

Last day of testing, at least for everyone else. All of the students were excited to leave. By noon, some of them were already leaving the campus. So eager to leave this prison.

I had nine more exams to pass during the holidays. I was overwhelmed and sad I couldn't spend the afternoon with my friends because they were leaving in two days. At least I had tomorrow to say goodbye.

I was rambling through the buildings, with a pile of books in my arms, looking for my little star necklace. I didn't know where I lost it, but I have had this necklace for two years, and it was attached to my soul. I was in a worry because I needed to be studying. I had a test tomorrow, and I didn't know anything. I screamed in frustration and dropped the books on the floor. Hands-on my hips, I was panting, glaring at the empty hallway, listening to the students hollowing outside.

I felt someone standing behind me. I turned around and came face to face with my necklace, which Julian was holding.

How the hell?

"Be more careful and stop living your stuff in the gym locker room." He read my thoughts.

And I remembered, I had swimming class and took it off. I probably left it on the bench.

"And you had to be the one who found it." I rolled my eyes and snatched it off his hand to put it on. "Thank you."

"You're lucky I didn't take it down the shop and pawn it." He furrowed his eyebrows.

"It was sixteen dollars on Etsy. If I find one of your necklaces, I will be the one to pawn it." I struggled to attach the necklace because of my long nails.

"Come here." He sighed.

He grabbed my waist and turned me around. He brushed off my hair to my shoulder. His fingers' cold sensation gave me goosebumps, making my body twitch.

"Let go of it. I got it."

I let go of the necklace and let him do the work. "There here go." He put back my hair. I stepped out of his reach quickly. His breathing crashing down my neck made me feel weird.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

He leaned against the wall, his head up straight, stretching out his Adam's apple. His hands in his pocket. His dark and shining hair was dangling in front of his eyes. His face looked so symmetrical from the side. His jawline was so defined and sharped. He was wearing a black turtleneck sweater under a brown denim jacket with black jeans and Dr. Martens boots. His nails were painted black. He looked good as always. I couldn't deny all these kids that went here; not only was he the richest and most famous, but his style was also unmatched—no wonder why girls were so quick to bow down to him. I never saw him without a shirt, but I knew he went to the gym a lot. Muscles and patching tattoos were the formula to make everyone go crazy, especially when you were Julian De Elvero.

Well, except me, of course.

"Stop looking at me like that. You're drooling." He smirked without glancing at me.

"I was just looking at your necklaces." I lied. "How much did you spend on them?"

"120k for that one. 75k. 150k. That little one was a gift, and the big one is 250k, custom." He pointed at the five necklaces he was wearing.
