          9-year-old Jersey stood on the stairs that she watched her mom and brother zay'air (zay) go at it, again This was a weekly thing she knew that the neighbors were  probably sick of it and she couldn't blame them because so was she. Jersey's mom (Tabitha) found out that zay was still in the streets after he said he got a job. They weren't poor but definitely we're not rich. Zay was a runner for upcoming kingpin . He was told what to sell and he did it no questions asked But, when Tabitha went in his room and found wads of money she assumed that's how you got it and she was right.

Tabitha didn't really have a job and if you did she couldn't keep it. She had a drug addiction that she wasted all her money on. Zay started working because Jersey needed things for school, food and clothes that there mom didn't provide. Notice how I said "didn't"not "couldn't". Even when Tabitha would have money she never thought about her kids. But anyway back to the situation at hand.

"Then get out" Tabitha screamed in zays face. "Then what, huh. You gonna take care of Jersei. You can't even keep food in the fridge. You care more about the men you have running in and out the house  than your daughter. How you going to take care of her when you can't even stay sober long enough to take care of yourself" he yelled back.

Tabitha knew it was true and that's why she reacted how she did. Her hand raised and she hit zay. He's still there in shock looking at her wide-eyed. Jersei was no longer on the stairs, she walked away after he went off with her. Through the door opening she saw zay storming up the stairs and rushing into his room. What he was doing, she didn't know.

That question was answered when zay came into her room "where you going" she asked and she took notice of the bag in his hand.
"I don't know yet, but I'm going to come back and get you" he said. She shook her head "why can't I just go with you now?"  She asked. He sighed "because I'm not in a stable situation I don't have anywhere to stay at and it'll only be a few weeks until I come back." He dug throught his bag and pulled out three wads of money handing it to her.

"Don't tell mom I gave you this. It for school, food and clothes that it" he said. She nodded her head. Sadly Jersei was mature for her age due to having to grow up fast. He knew that she was smart and when would spend the money wisely. She stood up and hugged her brother and he kissed her forehead. He sighed again. "I love you ,I'll be back I swear" then he walked out. She could hear their mom pleading with him to stay, probably realizing that he made all the money. 

Zay did leave and he didn't come back. 

Jersey sat her bed doing her homework when she heard the front door open and figured it was her mom. It has been 5 years since zay left. She counted the days hours even minutes until he returned. She still had half of the portion of the money (about 20k) he gave her she took his advice and use the wisely. She hid it in three parts of her room that so she knew her mom wouldn't find it. After zay left Tabitha went crazy, she did everything she used to just 10x worse. The men she had in and out the house multiplied too. There was a different man everyday.

One time a man tried to come in her room and tried to grab her, she fought him off and told her mom. Either her mom was high out her mind of she just didn't care . Though after that's situation that man was around way more. So jersei defended herself with what she saw everybody else using, a gun.

Hey y'all, how yall feel about the first chapter. I know it's kinda short but the next one is awesome. I have great ideas for this book. I might also update discovering ace today again.
