The first time I cried
Was when I lost a friend
Her dark skin so bright
Her smile was a delight.
The first time I cried
Was when she lost a child.
In the process of giving birth
She slipped into death.
The first time I cried
Was when my pride, died.
Now, that I stare at our photograph,
I can't remember the last time I laughed.
