Jin ♡ Dancing in the Moonlight [request]

Start from the beginning

As the day went on, Jin found other things to do to help keep you entertained. He also took care of you, getting anything you might need and making meals for you. Overall, it wasn't a horrible day.
Once night settled over your place, Jin assisted in getting you ready for bed, helping you under the covers and turning in for the night.

It was well past 2 AM and you couldn't sleep. For the life of you, you could not stop thinking about how your little accident blew up your vacation plans with your boyfriend who you don't get to see very often. It had already been weighing on your mind, but tonight was much worse, especially because tonight was the night you were supposed to be leaving. So yes, you were feeling much worse than normal.

You turned your head towards Jin, whose cheek was smushed against his pillow as he slept, his full and plush pink lips set in a pout as he slept. You let out a quiet sigh and pushed yourself into a sitting position, slowly and carefully moving yourself into your wheelchair, trying not to put too much weight on your cast-encased legs. You wheeled yourself down the hallway and into the kitchen to get a drink. Upon opening the fridge, you found a half empty bottle of water from earlier. You grabbed it and took a sip before placing it back into the fridge.

You wheeled yourself over in front of the large window in the kitchen, staring outside at the night sky, small, twinkling stars dotting the dark blanket. You should be at the beach right now sitting on a balcony with Jin, listening to the waves and watching the moon's reflection on the water's surface. Instead, you're stuck at home, confined to a wheelchair with restricting casts on your legs. It just didn't seem fair.
If you hadn't slipped, you wouldn't be in this situation. Jin wouldn't be forced to spend his time off taking care of you and you'd be able to walk around. You were being so careful when climbing down that rocky slope. You shouldn't have gotten injured, but you did.

Not even the cute doodles Jin put on your casts could cheer you up. In fact, just looking at the doodles reminded you how much of a liability you really were.
Tears began to well up in your eyes as you thought about how you were confined to a wheelchair, unable to do things for yourself. You felt absolutely useless. You dropped your head into your hands as all the tears you'd been holding back finally broke loose and streamed down your cheeks, muffled sobs echoing through the kitchen.
You didn't want to let Jin see you break down. While you've allowed some of your disappointment about the whole situation to show, you've held back most of what you were feeling. Now that you were alone, you let it all out, allowing yourself to feel sorry for yourself and just be sad.

It wasn't long until the soft shuffling of feet could be heard over your quiet weeping.
"Y/n?" Jin's sleepy voice reached your ears, making you lift your head.
He heard your soft cries as soon as he stepped into the kitchen, but was still surprised to see your puffy eyes and tear-stained cheeks.
"Oh no. Y/n." He frowned, hurriedly approaching you.
At this point, you couldn't pretend like this wasn't bothering you as much as it was. Especially now that Jin caught you having an emotional breakdown in the kitchen at 2 AM.
"What's wrong?" He questioned in a gentle tone as he stroked the top of your head, smoothing your hair in a tranquil manner.
"I ruined our plans." You sobbed, your voice muffled by your hands.
"What?"
"I'm such a burden, Jin. If I hadn't been clumsy and broken both my stupid legs and ended up in this stupid wheelchair we would be at the beach right now enjoying our vacation. I ruined everything."
Jin couldn't believe what he was hearing. He couldn't possibly understand how you could say such horrible things about yourself.
"I don't want you saying stuff like that, Y/n."
"It's true." You sniffled. "This is the first time in a long time that you've gotten a full week off and now here I am stuck in a wheelchair. Everything just seems to be going wrong at once and I hate it."
"Hey." He cooed, wrapping his arms around you. "It was just an accident. None of this is your fault, okay?"
You frowned, disagreeing with his words.
"Stop blaming yourself. These things happen. We'll just try again. It's no big deal."
"It is to me."
"Baby." Jin sighed, moving to squat in front of you before grabbing both your shoulders. "It's okay." He spoke slowly, making sure to get the message across. "I'm not upset that we couldn't go on vacation. We'll get other opportunities."
"But I wanted to go now."
"Things don't always work out the way you want them to. That's life."
"I know." You dropped your head.

"Come here." Jin placed his arm under your knees and lifted you from your wheelchair. Your arms hurriedly wrapped themselves around his shoulders as he walked to the middle of the kitchen floor. He made sure to keep a tight grip on you as he began to sway back and forth.
"What are you doing?" You asked, your voice laced with sadness.
"Dancing with you."
"Why?"
"You're upset because we're not spending time together at the beach, but we can spend time together here just the same."
You held onto Jin as he swayed back and forth, slowly moving around in a circle as the moonlight seeped in through the kitchen window, casting a beam on the both of you.
"I wish you wouldn't think so lowly of yourself." He murmured. "I love you no matter what. You're not a burden and you didn't mess anything up."
You nodded, listening to his words.
"I actually enjoy taking care of you." He continued. "It makes me feel good that I can be here to help."
"Really?"
"Yes, really. That's what boyfriends do. They take care of their girlfriends when they're upset or sick... or injured."
You smiled softly. "I'd do the same for you."
"I know you would. That's what relationships are all about. Sticking with the one you love through thick and thin."
Your mood was lifted exponentially by Jin's kind words.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. I love you, Y/n. You're so beautiful and the most perfect girl I've ever met. I want you to remember that."
You sniffled lightly, giving him a nod before resting your head against his chest, letting him hold you, swaying side to side.

It was then that you realized you didn't need to be at a beach or in a fancy hotel. You've been so busy sulking about missing your vacation that you didn't even realize you'd been spending time with Jin this whole time. You shouldn't be so distraught about your circumstances, though bleak, it hasn't been all that bad. The only thing that should matter is that you're able to be with your boyfriend.
As long as you were with Jin, everything was okay.
