"Yeah buddy you tell Santa all of that" Chloe pats his back
"Ava what do you want?" My dad asks
"Well, I want a new doll house I guess. But I think it would be cool if we got to live with daddy" she replies
Mom and dad smile at her while Chloe just looks down and Jack gives me that look. It was just awkward at the table now. I grabbed her hand for reassurance. She stayed the quiet since and I knew she was uncomfortable so I decided to wrap this breakfast up and take her back to the room. I texted my family group chat to have a meeting on the deck
"Chlo, I'll be back in 15. I have to go talk to Jack" I say closing the door. I walk onto the deck and join their circle
"So, plan for tonight?" Ella asks
"Mom is gonna call me and tell me dad doesn't want to go the dance anymore so she's giving us the tickets and she'll watch the kids. Mom did you bring the dress?" I ask
"Got it" she replies
"Awesome, so when I get alone time with Chloe I will talk things out and hopefully they will go the good way" I say
"Let's talk about that comment Ava made" Jack adds
"Yeah, it was so cute of her but Chloe just seemed so awkward about it" Ella says
"Well, you guys kinda put her on the spot. Of course she was awkward" I reply
"Well, just don't screw up tonight" dad says
"I won't dad don't worry" I reply

"Hey ma, what brings you here?" Jace says answering the door
"Well I just came to let you know your father isn't feeling well tonight so we won't be going to dance, so I was wondering if you and Chloe would like to go and me and your father will watch the kids" Erin explains
"Oh? A dance?" I question
"Yes, it's for the holiday season. The Winter Wonderland Ball, obviously it's not a ball but you get the idea. I think it'd be a fun opportunity for you two" She replies
"I'm down to go, Chlo?" Jace looks at me
"It sounds fun but I didn't bring anything dressy for the occasion" I answer
"Non sense. Do you really think Ella didn't come prepared?" She asks me again, smirking "I'm most definitely positive she bought an extra dress and set of heels, and if not we can look through the shops"
"Well I'll talk to Ella and we'll let you know" I answer her as she nods and leaves "You wanna go to a dance?"
"What? I think it would be fun for us seeing as it's our last night on the cruise and the kids are cranky so they won't want to do anything" Jace says
"Well, I'll go talk to Ella, be right back" I exit the room and walk down the hallway to Ella's room and knock on the door
"Oh, hey. What's up?" She asks opening the door as she puts an earring in
"Are you going to the dance tonight?" I ask walking in
"Yeah I am, are you and Jace going?" She answers
"Well, your mom offered to watch the kids so we can go but I don't have a dress and she told me to come by and see if you had anything" I reply
"Oh, you and Jace are going to the dance?" She smirks
