After around half an hour of driving, Maddie finally pulled up to the Stark Tower. Maddie didn't have her license long, maybe just under a month, but anytime she could she would drive herself anywhere. It wasn't that Maddie disliked Happy driving her around, Maddie just wanted a little bit of freedom so as soon as she turned 16, she got a car.

Stepping into the elevator, she was greeted by FRIDAY. She was exhausted. All day she had been working on her dads suits, well the old ones. Maddie liked to think she could fix them and make them better for her dad but at the moment, she didn't want Tony to find out about what's she's doing.

Strolling to her room, she flopped onto her bed, lazily kicking off her sneakers. Pulling back the duvet and burying herself into the soft fabric, Maddie was out like a light.

10:00 AM the next day, Maddie's phone began to ring. Having originally thought the noise was her alarm, Maddie reached her arm out from under the covers and began to whack her bedside table with her palm. When the noise continued, Maddie groaned and sat up, grabbing her phone from the bedside table and looking down at the caller ID.

Sliding her finger across the screen, she put the phone to her ear.

"What?" Maddie groaned over the phone as her free hand began to smoothen out her hair.

"Maddie! Thank god you picked up!" Peter spoke over the phone.

"What the fuck Parker? Do you know what time it is?" Maddie rolled her eyes, fighting back a yawn.

"It's 10:00am, shouldn't you be in the labs now?"

"Why did you interrupt my peaceful state?" Maddie completely dodged Peters question.

"Okay, w-well um, you know that Vulture guy I fought last night?".

"You mean the bird guy who kicked your ass and left you to drown? No."

"Anyway" Peter continued. "Last night as I was heading home I found a piece of one of his weapons. So today I thought I'd mess around with it and see what it is"

Maddie stayed quiet, suddenly interested in what Peter was telling her.

"Turns out its some kind of alien tech that was left over from the attack in 2012. It looks dangerous and it's probably not the only one the had!".

Maddie's mood began to shift. She felt shivers down her spine at the mention of the Alien Invasion when she was younger. It was an eventful time for Maddie. During that time, Maddie was exposed to dangerous weaponry, near death experiences and found the dead body of a man she considered a close family friend. Not to mention the multiple clips of her father falling from the sky.

"Maddie!? Are you still there?" Peter spoke through the phone, pulling Maddie from her thoughts.

"Hmm. Yeah, yeah I'm still here" Maddie hummed into the phone. "Why do you need me thought?"

"Well this looks like some advanced weaponry and I was thinking you would be able to study it and possibly figure out how it works? You know cause...Starks know a thing or two about weapons."

"If it's a Stark you need, why don't you just ask my dad? He will be back soon".

"No! Mr Stark can't know. I want to prove I can be a hero without Mr Starks help. Plus he will completely try talk me out of it. Please Mads, you've got to help me!".

There was something in Peters voice that made Maddie want to fold completely. Maybe it was the way he was begging for her help or it was the fact that Maddie was curious about this Alien tech.

" Where will I meet you?" Maddie gave in, Peter letting out a relieved sign in return.

*********

"I can't believe I'm helping this bug" Maddie mumbled to herself as she parked her car outside Midtown Tech High-school. Peter had asked her to come to his school to show her the device, promising to meet her at the side door. Locking her car, Maddie began walking towards the side of the building and sure enough, there stood Peter....and his friend Ned.

"H-hey, you made it!" Peter pushed himself off the doorframe as he saw Maddie approach.

"I said I would Parker, so I'm here." Maddie huffed. "So where is this thing then?".

"Oh yeah, uh follow me" Peter smiled and then turned to walk through the door, holding it open for Maddie and Ned (who Peter made promise not to say anything to Maddie).

"Did you try out the glowy thing in the mass spectrometer?" Maddie asked as the three of them walked down the hallway.

"That's what I said! Wow" Ned exclaimed, gaining a look from Peter.

"First, we gotta come up with a better name than "glowy thingy."" Peter groaned as Ned nodded along with Peters words.

Next minute, two men walk through the front doors. Peter instantly freezes, recognising the two men from last night.

"Crap" Peter mumbles as he grabs Maddie and pushes her into a nearby hallway, turning and urging Ned to following.

The two men spoke between each other, not noticing the teens as they past the hallway.

"Hey, that's one of the guys that tried to kill me." Peter whispered.

"Uhhh, that's tragic and all but, Peter can you let go of me?" Maddie awkwardly looked at the boy.

Peters looked down and jumped back when he realised his both hands had been placed on Maddies upper chest. His eyes widened and instantly he was all apologetic.

"We gotta get out of here." Ned changed the subject quickly.

"No, no, no, no, no. I gotta follow them. Maybe they can lead me to the guy that dropped me in the lake." Peter spoke.

"You got dropped in a lake?".

"Yeah, it was hilarious." Maddie added before Peter gave her an unamused look.

The teens watched as the two men walked into an empty classroom. Peter slowly walks out from their hiding place and creeps to the classroom.

"Peter!" Ned whispered watching his best friend stalk away.

"No. Stay there, both of you". Peter whispered back.

"Bitch-" Maddie began to rant but was interrupted by Peter raising his hands towards her face before slowly backing away.

Creeping back towards the classroom again, Peter left Maddie and Ned in the hallway.
