Chapter 9

Gabriel's POV

"Because I care for you, Annalise." I said. "Alam kong ilang araw palang tayo magkakilala pero, I like you." I said. Bahala na, ang mahalaga umamin ako. "Matagal ko na 'tong tinatago, I felt like I've known you forever." I added.

"Natatakot lang ako kasi baka hindi mo ako gusto and, I don't know." I said.

She looked at me. I felt nervous. Will she slap me? Cry? Get mad at me? Ignore me?

"I like you too.." She said.

I was surprised.

"Y-you like me too?" I asked. Trying to confirm if that's what she really said. She nodded.

"The moment I saw you nung inintroduce ako ni dad as your new secretary, I don't know. I think I have experienced love at first sight. I just didn't show it." She said.

"And yung inayos ko yung kotse mo? It was really unexpected. Papunta ako sa isang bakery n'on but I saw a car na naka hazard so I decided to help nalang." She added.

"Nagulat nga ako nung sumilip ako ikaw pala 'yon." She said sabay tawa. "Kinilig nga ako when I found out na Mi amor ang name ko sa contacts mo." She said.

I hugged her and she hugged me back. We heard dad talk. "Aww you two! Couple goals huh? Both of you are fired!" He said. "We dont care sir. Hahanap kami ng ebidensya and we'll find out na hindi ako 'yon. Mali ang sinisi ninyo." Annalise said.

"Are you seriously going with her, Gab? Sayang ang pwesto mong CEO." Dad said. "Yes dad. That's my final decision." I answered. I held Annalise's hand.

"Well, ikaw din.'Wag kang gumapang pabalik sa akin when you found out that what I've said is true." He said sabay alis.

My other workers were looking at us. Two of them got out of the room and walked towards us. "Kung aalis si sir Gab aalis din po kami." They said.

"No, you don't have to." I said. "Kayo lang po ang nagtanggol sa amin sir, hindi po namin kayang wala nang magtatanggol sa amin." The girl answered.

Dad didn't care.

Isa-isa na silang lumabas ng room at tumabi na rin sa amin. "Aalis din po kami sir, at hahanap kami ng paraan para mapaalam sa inyo na nagkakamali kayo." Kailie said. "I'm sorry Dad but this is too much." Bea said.

"Edi sumama kayo! I don't care. I have better workers, yung mga staffs ni Ricky mas magaling kesa sainyo!" He said sabay sarado ng pinto.

"Sir, uwi na po kami. Just call us if you need us." Romeo said.

I nodded, still in shock.

"Uuwi na rin ako, I'm just a call away." Annalise said sabay tapik ng braso ko.
Just then kuya's girlfriend went inside. We heard her say. "Baby! I bought the Rolls Royce na, yung change nasa account mo na."

All of us looked at each other. "Annalise, paki take note 'yon." I said. "Noted." She said sabay sulat sa isang papel.

Tumingin naman ako kay Annalise. "Hatid na kita." I said. She nodded and smiled. "Sige." She said.

"Kayo, ingat sa pag-uwi." I said. "Pero sir, paano na po?" Jack asked. "Naiisip ko rin 'yon, maybe I'll go rent us a place." I answered. I'm completely out of my mind pa. I still need to recover from what's happening.

"Let's go." I said.

Pumasok na kami ni Annalise sa kotse. "Paano na 'yan? Wala kang trabaho, and baka mahihirapan tayo maghanap ng ebidensya?" She asked.

I remembered what Nanay Luisa said.

"Iho lakasan mo ang loob mo. Kapag may problema, malalagpasan niyo 'yan ng sabay."

"Malalagpasan natin 'to. Tiwala lang." I told Annalise. She nodded. I held her hand. "Lakasan lang natin loob natin." I added. "We will make dad know na hindi talaga ikaw ang gumastos ng company expenses." I said.

I started the car and drove to her house. She told me kung nasaan 'yon.

"Are you okay?" Annalise asked. "Yep." I said, but deep inside hindi talaga. I'm so mad at dad. "I know your not." She said. I looked at her. "Eyes on the road, and oo. I know your not okay, Gab." She said. I looked back at road.

"Sino ba naman ang magiging okay? Pinabayaan na akong tuluyan ni dad. He didn't even convince me more to don't follow you." I said.

"Sino ba naman ang magiging okay na mula pagkabata mo hindi ka na talaga minahal ng sarili mong tatay." I added, tearing up a little.

I can feel Annalise looking at me. "Uy, 'wag kang umiyak." She said. I wiped my tears sabay tawa. "Haha, onti lang 'to." I said. "Kakasabi mo lang kanina, lakasan natin ang loob natin at malalagpasan natin 'to diba?" She said. I nodded.

"Masama lang talaga loob ko." I said. "Lumaki akong hindi minahal, sila kuya at Bea lang. Mom's the only one who loves me, who cares for me. Who brings me to my favorite bakery. Sadly she's in hospital right now." I said.

"I'm sorry sa'yo ko 'to sinabi, I can't tell mom kasi baka lumala pa yung kalagayan niya." I said. "It's alright, sanay na akong sabihan ng problema." She said. I smiled.

"Why don't we go to the hospital where your mom is at?" She said. I stopped the car and looked at her. "And siguro daan muna tayo doon sa sinasabi mong bakery." She said. I nodded and went on the other way papunta sa bakery.

"Oh wow parang familiar 'to ah?" She said. "You've been here?" I asked. "Ata, parang?" She answered. We parked outside the bakery. "I knew it!" She said sabay labas papunta sa bakery.

"Tita Luisa!!" She said as she ran inside. I went to follow her. How did she know Nanay Luisa?

"Annalise!" Nanay Luisa said. "Paano?" I asked. They both laughed. "Pamangkin ko si Annalise, kapatid ko ang tatay niya." Nanay Luisa said. "Tama!" Annalise said.

"Eh iha, paano mo nakilala si Gabriel?" Nanay asked. "Siya po ang boss ko tita." Annalise answered.

"Alejandro! Mahal ang pamangkin mo bumisita!" Nanay Luisa said. "Ay, baka tulog ho si tito, pagod ho ata siya?" Annalise said. She knows Tatay Alejandro isn't here anymore too.

"Hay nako, lagi nalang tulog ang tito mo. Wala namang ginagawa." Nanay Luisa said.

"16 years ang pagitan nila ni dad, siya panganay." Annalise explained. I nodded, but still in shock. "A small world isn't it?" Annalise said sabay tawa. "I know right." I said sabay tawa rin.

Si nanay Luisa kasi nakilala ni mom dito rin sa bakery, so she made her my godmother.

"Oh Gabriel, kailangan mo pa ng pasalubong sa mom mo?" Nanay Luisa asked. "Opo nay." I answered. "Ay tita tulungan na po kita." Annalise said sabay tali ulit ng buhok niya. Man, why? Whyyy?

"Oh, tumitingin nanaman siya oh." She said. I looked away. "Hindi ah." I said sabay upo. "Si Annalise ba ang iniisip isip mo iho?" Nanay Luisa asked. "Po? Hindi po." I said sabay tawa.

"Pakuha nga ako ng asukal." Nanay Luisa said. "Ako na!" Annalise and I both said. We quickly ran to the shelf and we accidentally ripped off the sugar at lahat ng asukal nabuhos sa mukha ni Annalise.

"HAHAHAHA!" We both laughed. "You're too small, that's why." I said. "Tita oh!" Pagsumbong ni Annalise. "Shh quiet, magigising si Alejandro." Nanay Luisa said.
