Chapter Two-I Know How The Story Goes...

"Well, y/n, my name is Camilo Madrigal," he smiled proudly.

'As if that's new information'

"Nice to meet you Camilo, now could you please stop following me? I'm pretty busy," I say, trying to get him off of me.

'Now that I think about it...what if the only way that I can go back to my world is if the story ends just like in the movie, with a happy ending. I can just play the role of a villager and not mess with the storyline since I already know how the story ends. As cool as it sounds, it's better if I don't befriend any of the Madrigals. BUT CAMILO IS NOT HELPING'

"Why? Am I so gorgeous that you can't even look at me anymore?" He asked with a smirk.

"Um...no. But I'm really busy and I bet you are too, so you can go back to your house and help your family set up the ceremony for your brother," I hope that I convinced him of letting me go.

"OH SHOOT! I FORGOT WHAT I WAS HERE FOR," he started running off when but he stopped, turned around and said, "Bye hermosa/o! I hope we see each other soon!" He waved and took off running again.

I waved back with a smile and whispered to myself, "I hope not."

~Back in the house~

"Mamá, I have thought about it, and maybe it's best if I just...you know...don't go to the gift ceremony?" I said hesitating. She is most likely going to say no.

"No." She said firmly.

'Why did I even bother to ask?'

I sighed, I don't even want to hear the explanation for the answer because I knew that her 'no' was never going to change.

I went upstairs to my 'room' and put on the best outfit that I had. I grabbed Antonio's gift, which is some animal shaped cookies since he really likes them, and went back downstairs.

"What do you think mamá? Does it look good on me?" I say showing her my outfit.

She smiled and said, "of course!"

"Is everyone ready?" My dad asked.

I nodded and we started heading to the Casa Madrigal.

~Outside of the Casita~

We were almost at the entrance and I realized something that I have somehow forgotten.

'Camilo greets each and EVERY one of the guests'

When my family got to him I tried to hide behind my parents, but eventually he noticed me.

'Shit'

"Hola hermosa/o! Are you happy that you're seeing me again?" He said with a grin.

I fake smiled and said, "yes...very, very happy."

I hurried inside with my family. Thankfully, he got too distracted because he had to greet other people.

I looked for a table to put the animal-shaped cookies in, I was setting them down, when I could feel someone behind me. I turned around and it was...

"Mirabel?!"

"Oh! You know my name! That's great! I saw you talking with Camilo earlier so I was really excited to find out that he had a new friend!"

'I'm thankful that it wasn't Camilo this time, but not Mirabel too...I guess this is going to get more difficult than I thought. And what am I supposed to tell her? That I'm not Camilo's friend? Then they will both be upset. WHY IS THIS SO DAMN DIFFICULT?!'

"Yeah...um, I'm y/n nice to meet you!" I said.

'I know I'm going to regret this later'

"How wonderful! Let's present you to the whole family!" She said, grabbing my arm and dragging me.

'WAIT WHAT?! NO! THIS IS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED'

'I HAVE TO SAY SOMETHING! ANYTHING!'

"Wait Mirabel-!"

The lights were turned off and Mirabel said, "oh! I have to go get Antonio! You will have to meet them later y/n, sorry!" And she hurried off.

I waved, smiling at her.

'I'm really screwed. I didn't even get a chance to explain. Oh well, I'm going to worry about that later. Right now, I'm really excited to see the Ceremony in person!'

A circular light was pointed at Antonio and he stayed there frozen. I get it. He's probably really nervous that everyone is looking at him. Then, just like I knew, he held out his hand and Mirabel appeared. They were walking towards the stairs and when they got to the top, he touched the candle and turned the knob, as expected, a toucan settled in his arm. Then Antonio said, "uh huh, uh huh, I understand you! Of course they can come!" And a bunch of animals appeared out of nowhere, and the drawing on his door appeared.

I was really happy for Antonio, even though I already knew what his gift would be.

Everyone flooded into Antonio's room. And of course, I went in too. It was definitely bigger than what I had expected. Everyone was dancing and laughing.

I went to look for Mirabel because I can imagine how she felt right now.

I finally found her. She was looking at how her family was taking a picture without her, unbelievable. She then got out of the room and went downstairs. I followed her because I know exactly what is going to happen now.
