After our long day with the kids, we went back to the Casita. It was about 7 pm, when Bruno pulled me aside after dinner.

"Are you ready for your prophecy?" He asks.

'That's right! The prophecy! I totally forgot about it'

I nod.

"Very well, stay here until I am done."

I wait for ten minutes and then I hear the door of the room open, and Bruno comes out with the prophecy.

He hands it to me and says nothing, which makes me start to worry.

I look at it. There is...

Nothing.

No picture.

I turn to him, "what is this? What did you see?"

"Thats the thing. I didn't see anything." He says, avoiding my eyes.

I feel a knot forming on my throat.

"Wh-what do you I think it means?" I can barely talk.

"It either means that something very bad is going to happen," he pauses for a moment before he continues. "Or you have no future in the Encanto."

I shake my head in disbelief. I feel hot tears run down my cheeks.

"No," I say, but it comes out more like a breath, "no, t-that will not happen."

He puts his hand on my shoulder, "you can't run away from fate."

Those were the words that have been following me around my whole life, and those were the words that took for me to start sobbing while I feel on my knees.

'Fate...something beautiful yet hurtful. It can come at you when you least expect it and can tear you apart. Even if you try—you can never run away'

"Is there a way to stop it?"

He kneels beside me, "stop what?"

"Stop it," I pause, "from chasing me."

He shakes his head, "it all comes to you. Your decisions are what decide your own future."

"But how can I know what my future is when you can't even see it!" I yell. After I realize what I just did, I apologize, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell like that."

He shakes his head, "I understand this may be hard for you. Besides, this is a vision, there may be a probability that it will not come true."

I give him a sad smile. I know he is only trying to cheer me up.

Something bad is going to happen.

I stand up and wipe the tears off my face, "thank you anyway for just putting up with my crying."

"It's normal that you feel that way, I can see how much you like living here. You can spend the night here, I will talk to Abuela. The festival starts tomorrow anyway."

I nod. I guess it would be nice to have some company. I don't want to go back to my room, I'm scared I might get to see the painting again.

I go downstairs and Camilo comes up to me.

"Are you okay?" He asks while looking at my face closely, he grabs my face, "have you been crying? Who made you cry?"

I laugh, "I-it's fine, there's nothing to worry about."

He sighs, "are you sure?"

I nod, "Mhm, I'm sure."

'This is not good'

———

I wake up, once again, in Mirabel's room. I notice that she is still sleeping so I'm assuming that the whole family is still asleep. She is normally the one who wakes all of us up.

I get up and decide to go outside and get some fresh air by myself, but when I get there, I see Camilo sitting on the grass.

I sit beside him.

"Oh, you're awake," he looks at me.

"I am, what are you doing here?" I ask.

"I like to come here so I can think and then I go back to my room to go sleep before Mirabel wakes all of us up."

"And why this place out of all of them?"

He shrugs, "I don't know, I used to go here when I couldn't sleep because of my stress."

I nod, "it must've been hard for you. You were always entertaining other people and you didn't have time for yourself."

He nods in agreement, "I'm glad we don't have as much pressure as we had in the past."

After that, everything becomes silent, except for the sound of the morning birds.

"Why were you crying yesterday?" He asks after the long moment of silence.

I frown and shake my head, "you wouldn't like to hear it."

He grabs my hand, "I want to hear you out. I don't care how bad it is."

I sigh and explain everything that happened yesterday with Bruno.

"So is there a chance that may go back to your world?" He asks.

"Yes, but," I sigh, "I don't know how. I can't even solve a problem when we don't know what it is."

"It's okay, we will figure it out. We don't need to worry so much, sometimes Bruno's visions don't come true. I have seen it happen."

I shrug, "I trust in you."

He looks at the sky, "well, it's time for us to go inside, Mirabel will be up soon."

I nod, "okay."
