Chapter 20: split

"Mouse, can you teleport us to the temple?" Connor asked

Mouse closed her eyes and attempted to conjure up a portal in front of her. A small spark formed in the air in front of the two, dissapearing a few seconds later.

"I-I can't there's a barrier around the temple" She said 

Connor put his hands on his face and let out a long sigh. Gura sat up and looked at the two.

"Kronii is there, she's being held captive" Gura groaned

Their eyes widened and their faces started to turn blue. Their mouths openned widely.

Connor walked over to the hallways and signaled Mouse to come over. She did as he said

"We have to get going, Mouse" Connor said

"Please save her.." Gura fainted

Connor openned the front door and walked onto the sidewalk. The wind roared and whistled as he walked.

Mouse floated slightly beside him, moving when Connor was moving. Her tail was moving around wildly in a circle.

"Let's get this over with" Connor smiled

Mouse turned around and layed on her back. She continued to float backwards.

Connor took a step forwards and the pavement cracked. His body launched upwards, making a loud roar.

"hey wait up!" Mouse shouted. She put up her hands and walked into a small trapdoor. On the other side was Connor, streaming through the air like a bullet.

She jumped in his back and held on tightly.

"What's wrong?" Connor asked

"I can't go this fast" She answered

The ground below zoomed past, the honking of cars and screeching of metal could be heard all over. The sun was high in the sky, shining down the big city of Tokyo

"woah," Mouse said in awe "This view is amazing"

"Yea? I'll make sure to take you to all the places here some day" He responded

Connor started to slow down, he descended to ground level and landed in the sand. In the horizon, the water was a dark-purple shade. A menacing aura came from that spot

"that must be it" Connor said

He lifted his hand up and openned up the water, revealing a path straight to the center of the temple. He began to trail it, leading Mouse who was following right behind.

"This is it," Connor smiled "peace after this."

The stone doors were left open. The inside was dark, letting only the littlest amount of light inside.

The two walked through the door, a chill ran down either of their spines. The room was chilly, the floor as cold as ice.

"welcome" A voice growled

It was a deep voice, it seemed to have a slight reverb. A high pitched whistle followed as it spoke.

A small, purple fire illuminated the room, the pillars that formed the walls were painted in red. In a pile that lay before the fire, there was a mask, a scythe and a body that had white hair.

"What did you do?" Mouse shouted

"Just, redecorated" It laughed

In the middle of the room, there was a long chain that extended to the floor. Hung by the chain was kronii, who was blooded up and bruised. She seemed to be half-conscious

"H-he.. m...." Kronii said faintly.

"FIGHT US" Connor screamed

A figure descended from the ceiling. It had a pair of wings that stretched twice as long as it's arm. It's skin resembled that of a human. It has a tall stature with skinny arms.

"Welcome, I am Lucifer, Sin of wrath" It smiled

"100x" Connor said suddenly

Luficer sunk into the ground, his feet completely submerged. He stood straight up and scratched the back of his neck

"You're just like the others" It sighed

Connor took a step back in surprise. The character was under immense pressure and was standing up as if nothing was happening.

"How??" Connor screamed

"simple, I am the stronger one" It grinned

It took a step forward, making the ground shake beneath him. Kronii fell from the chain, hitting the ground with a thud.

"Oh, I guess I used too much power" it laughed

Mouse ran over to Kronii, who was groaning in pain. Connor stood in the room, having a stare down with the sin.

"1000x" Connor announced

The sin sunk a bit more into the ground. It stretched its arms upwards. "Thanks for the massage, I was getting a little stiff" It responded

"WHAT IS THIS?? MY NEW POWER IS COMPLETELY USELESS" Connor screamed

"new? I've seen it before, thousands of years ago. Some old guy used it against me, but he failed and turned himself into a tree when he realized it didn't work" It laughed

Connor fell to his knees, creating cracks that tore through the stone. He lunged forward and hit Lucifer straight in the jaw. He was knocked back a few feet.

"Ooh, Not bad, Not bad" It smiled

Connor clenched his fist, channeling a space around it. He took a swing at the sin, disintegrating it's right side.

"This will work" Connor laughed

"nice try, idiot" It laughed

Lucifer's body began to regenerate. Slowly from the base of his body a new arm grew, it looked as if nothing ever happened.

"Command: Kneel" Mouse announced

Lucifer looked over at Mouse with a death glare. He stood there, resisting both Mouse and Connors powers

"Command: Kneel" Lucifer repeated

Mouse fell to her knees with a thump. She let out a groan. Lucifer looked at his forearm, it let out steam.

"LEAVE HER ALONE" Connor shouted. He threw a punch that decimated Lucifer's upper body.

Lucifer regained the top of his body and let out a yawn. He began to float again, sitting in an invisible throne

"I, Lucifer, have the power to copy any magic that I have seen. I've been alive for millennia, taking powers of those who have tried to face me. Do you think a mere God can kill me?" He said angrily

Connor stepped forwards, gaining all his strength into his fist. A ball of light formed around his knuckles.

A drop of blood came from Lucifer's nose. He wiped it off.

"blood?I guess I underestimated you" he sighed

"Connor be careful!" Mouse shouted.

She was beside Kronii, who was attempting to recover herself. She was still kneeling on the ground due to the command.

"I'll end this quick, so we can go ho-" Connor paused

A sharp blade ran from his right shoulder, down to his left hip. He  fell to the ground with a plop. Connor clasped his chest, there was a blood gushing out, too much bloody

"Sword magic: Excalibur" Luficer whispered

The light in Connors eyes began to dim. The room around him started to grow darker.

"end this quick? don't make me laugh." It snarled

"CONNOR" Mouse shouted

"CONNOR DONT GO" mouse repeated

"DONT DIE" She began to get mumbled

"CONNOR D-" the sound stopped
