Chapter 16: Godhood

"us? the strongest?" Connor shouted

"How can that be?!" Mouse added

Gura put her hand up and they both shut up. She took her seat. A tridents etched into the backrest.

"The true nature of your powers are far beyond what you think." Gura said

"There's always a seconds stage" She continued

Connor slabbed his hands on the top of the stone slab of a table. It shook it slightly. Everyone looked at him with worried eyes

"I never asked to be a god." He cried

The members at the table looked down at the ground, a gloomy aura filled the large room.

Connor stayed standing for a while and looked each one of the members in the eyes. A particularly familiar face appeared.

She sat with her legs crossed. A chain headband and navy blue hair. Her seat resembled a clock, It was Kronii.

"You! You can control time, it's alter it" Connor spoke

Kronii uncrossed her legs and leaned onto the table. She rested her head on her two arms.

"That's out of my reach, our powers aren't endless" She answered

Connor fell back onto his seat and let out a huge sigh. He slammed his arms on the arm rests before regaining his focus

"What do you need help with." He said firmly

A thin pillar of light illuminated at the center of the oval table. The light spread wider and showed a map of japan.

It had the smallest details like street lamps and trash cans. It was labeled and everything

"What's this?" Mouse asked

She leaned forwards looking at the map closer. She opened her mouth in awe. It was the first time Connor and Mouse had seen something like this

"Help us with this, that is all that we ask" Aethlstan spoke

"Phantoms, Deviants, Demons, whatever name you choose, they're the same thing" A figure spoke

He had pale skin with white hair. His eyes were dim and two shades of blue. A darker blue replacing the eye whites, and a lighter blue that was his iris. A skull-shaped mask sat on the top of his head.

"The god of knowledge, Nux" He spoke again

Silence filled the room for a brief second.

"What are those.. whatever you call them" Mouse asked

Nux opened his arms and the map grew bigger. It enlarged and zoomed into a road in the middle of tokyo. A red flashing dot sat there

"There are only a few that exist" He started "They have started to evolve past our understanding."

Connor looked at the red dot and then to Mouse, then to Kronii. "Those the the things that-" He paused

Kronii nodded in agreement.

"About seven of them, high ranking 'monsters' are called sins" Nux continued

The map shrank back down and dissapeared from sight. The table stayed silent for a while.!

"You're saying, all we need to do is get rid of them and we're okay to leave?" Connor asked

The members at the table looked at eachother one by one. They came to a conclusion.
"Yup" They all said in unison
