Chapter 19: I Never Want to Leave Here

Start from the beginning

"Sorry, Hyung."

"Much better. Now move your suitcase away from him."

"But I was standing here first!"

"How do you figure that?"

"I got out of the car first."

"Because you pushed me out of the way."

"Only because you farted, and I had to get some fresh air."

"He's not wrong."

"It smelled like actual death."

"What did you eat on the plane?"

"No more carrots in your carryon."

"No more carrots ever if that's the result."

"Hyung!"

"Wait...Did Yoongi just call us stowaways?"

There were so many words coming at once. Half of them were in English, and half were in Korean. Thanks to the almost 3-week-long crash course in Korean that Hobi had been giving me, I actually understood most of it. I couldn't speak it very well, yet, but I could understand much more than I could say.

"Would you all just shut up already?" Yoongi asked as he tossed the bags he was carrying onto the floor. "You're going to scare her off. This is why we all tried to tell her that this was a bad idea."

"Are you trying to say that we're too much for her to handle, Hyung?" asked a voice that I didn't know, yet.

"That's exactly what I'm saying," Yoongi said, taking a deep breath and walking farther into the house. "And why in the hell did you all pack so much? You're not moving in."

"You know that at least one of Jin's is nothing but hair products."

"Umm....Guys?" Hobi tried to interrupt. "Ease up."

"Ease up? What does that mean?"

"It's American for chill the fuck out," Yoongi said in annoyance as the other four men finally got inside the house and shut the door. Then he turned to me. "I'd apologize for them, but....we did try to warn you. You only brought this on yourself."

I laughed from where I was standing next to Hobi. At once, all four heads of the guys that I hadn't met yet turned to me. It was like they forgot the reason that they came here.

It made me even more nervous than I already was, But Yoongi was right. I had brought this on myself.

"Ummm...Hi," I said, giving them a small wave.

Hobi used his arm around my waist to pull me a little closer to him, then he started introductions. Sort off. He basically just pointed at them one-by-one and told me their names and what to call them.

"This is Kim Namjoon, we usually call him Joon or Joonie. Kim Seokjin, but we just call him Jin. Kim Taehyung, who is usually just Tae or TaeTae. And Jeon Jungkook, who I'm sure that you've heard us refer to as JK." Each man bowed to me as Hobi said his name. Hoseok paused for a moment to let it soak in, then he used his free hand to gesture towards me. "Guys, this is Ellie McNamara."

"Noona!" One of them exclaimed. It was the one that Hobi had called Jungkook. I remember Yoongi and Jimin telling me that he was the youngest. He rushed over to me and gave me a hug, then stepped back and blushed a little. "Sorry. I got excited." He gave me a sheepish smile that looked like a cute, little bunny.

"It's okay, Jungkook," I told him. "Jimin hugged me right away, too. It's nice to finally meet you."

"Why are you being so formal?" Yoongi asked me. The expression on his face clearly said 'WTF?'

"What? I'm not," I told him.

"You are," he said. "You weren't this polite when I met you."

"Maybe I'm nervous," I said.

"Maybe she disliked you right off the bat," Jin suggested, making everybody laugh.

I heard footsteps behind me and turned to see my father and Hoseok's parents walking in from the kitchen. One-by-one, each of the new guys went and shook their hands and bowed to them, then introduced themselves to my father. Wow. They were really respectful in South Korea. I didn't know if any of them had ever been to the US before, but if not, then they were in for a serious culture shock.

Once they were finished, my father clapped his hands together. "What're we all standing around here for?" He asked. "We've got the dining room full of classic American food to welcome you here. Let's eat!"

"Classic American food?" I asked him. "Please tell me that you didn't have them fix meatloaf again, Papa."

"No, darling daughter," He told me with a glare. "I know that you hate it. Just come see, will you?"

As we all made our way to the dining room, I could hear one of the guys, Taehyung, I think, whisper to Hobi. "What the hell is a meatloaf?"

"You really don't want to know," Hobi told him, making me laugh.

It wasn't until we got into the dining room, that I realized how much I really don't like American food. Give me Sushi, fried rice, tacos, or tamales any day.

The table was filled out with chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, hot dogs, fried chicken, hot wings, tater tots (which I felt was a weird thing to include,) barbeque ribs, cheesy funeral potatoes, and grits. To top it all off, on the side table, there were three pies that looked to be apple, cherry, and sugar cream.

"That's a lot of food, Dad," I told him, as Hobi pulled out my chair for me, then sat down next to me.

My dad shrugged. "Hoseok told me that at least two of them eat like they have bottomless stomachs. Plus, I don't know what each of them would like. I wanted to be a good host and be prepared."

Across the table, I saw Taehyung lean over to Jungkook. They both whispered in Korean, but I could understand it.

"Are we sure that she doesn't live in a hotel?" Taehyung asked.

"I don't know, but I never want to leave here," was Jungkook's reply, as he started filling his plate, making us all laugh, including my dad after Hobi translated for him.
